I remember riding this when it opened and it was great. but then coming back in the years after it seemed to get faster and bumpier. But it was even better. I did not ride in the last few years of its life before RMC but this ride deserves better than its rating for the end of its time. If nothing else it was always better to me than lightning racer even with the bumpy ride.

Listen. I grew up on this coaster. I have so many fond memories on it and I believe it was once such a good coaster. It had a good layout that had a little bit of everything with laterals, airtime, and other forces. HOWEVER, this thing aged like milk. Hershey takes such good care of its coasters and even with their good maintenance this thing was just unbearable by the end. I have so many memories and once loved this coaster but I stopped ridding it when I went to the park and was BEGGING for RMC to come in. So overall this coaster was once really good but became horrible regardless of its good layout. Rest in peace kitty your revenge was necessary.

This ride was really under-appreciated, if not underrated .We went on it multiple times the day before Thanksgiving in 2021 and we enjoyed each ride. I'm very much looking forward to giving Wildcat's Revenge a go as I love RMC's, but I thought this version of the Wildcat delivered. The first banking drop gave a lot more intensity than appearances suggested and while it got a little bumpy for the next few seconds, I never found myself uncomfortable and the pacing was maintained all the way to the finish. In hindsight, it was not quite to the level, but yet was a very similar experience to Thunderhead at Dollywood - another coaster I really enjoy that seems to be appreciated more so by coaster aficionados. Not the best coaster in the world by any means, but I think it was a much better coaster than reviews suggested.

I would like to say that I really enjoyed this ride after riding once in the front and once in the very back. I felt the roughness that people always mention but it was very tolerable for me. The layout was fun and never died down until the brakes. Front row wasn't rough at all and it was my favorite woodie in the park.

I was a big fan of the original GCI. I want to start by saying that although this ride was very rough, I never had an issue with how comfortable it was. The millenium flyers that ran on Wildcat were padded very well, and that padding absorbed most of the roughness. Moving on to the ride experience, the prelift was fun. The hill had a tiny bit of weightlessness, and this section was pretty smooth. Wildcat's first drop had a very good gut punch, much like other twisting GCI drops. Unfortunately, this surprisingly good drop was preceded by a violently rough valley. After this, there was a pop of airtime into the first turnaround, which also, despite being pretty slow, jackhammered you pretty good. The drop off of the turnaround had some slight floater, as did the following hill. The transition into the second turnaround gave some good ejector, but the iconic following hill was just a dead spot. The turn afterwards (the one that passed right by the queue and under the break run) was actually very smooth. My favorite moment on Wildcat was by far the sideways ejector speedhill under the lift. This moment was extremely jarring in 2019-2021, but for Wildcat's final year, it was actually fun. It gave some very strong airtime and laterals for a traditional wooden roller coaster. This moment was followed by another shaky turn into an airtimeless airtime hill, which was followed by yet another shaky turn. The transition out of this turn actually gave some good floater airtime, and the twist into the final helix gave ejector. However this helix was unbearably rough. Sitting in the back row, you could see the train violently shake back and forth at the lowest portion of the helix. This turn is followed up by two airtimeless hills into the brake run. Overall, Wildcat was a very solid wooden roller coaster. The padding absorbed most of the roughness, and I'll always remember my winter night rides in the dark as we raced by the beautiful chaser lights. I miss this ride, I really do, but Wildcat's Revenge is an undoubtedly better attraction.

Look, I know that this was GCI's first coaster, I get it. But that still doesn't change the fact that this ride was TERRIBLE! The layout was quite boring and dumb, and the ride itself was rather stupid! The biggest problem! This ride was INCREDIBLY ROUGH! Not as rough as Blue Freak, but worse than something like Corkscrew. This was the only coaster at Hersheypark that I gave up on after ONE ride. Granted, as I said in my Corkscrew review, I used to copy everyone's opinions, so my memory on this ride is a bit limited, but it was still pretty dang bad! If I were to name something SEMI-REDEEMING about this ride, it did have good pacing. Also, this is one of two awful coasters I've ridden that is now dead. Wildcat's Revenge isn't open during this time, but I SURELY can't wait to ride it, and I bet 100% it'll be a million times better than this piece of junk. At least Wildcat did have some historic value though. Well! TWO DOWN! NINE MORE TO GO!

This is closing permanently on 7/31/22. I got to ride it 10 days before its retirement. After experiencing this, I must say that retirement can't come soon enough for this. That pains me a bit as I love GCI's. This has the wonderful Millennium trains. So, in the station I was thinking, this can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong. The layout seemed perfect--tons of tight twists and turns and transitions in all directions. I'm sure this was absolutely wonderful when it was new. I don't know what happened to this--total neglect or was it just that GCI didn't quite have everything figured out 100% as this was their first coaster? Again, I have no idea, but what I do know is that this is truly a terrible ride. I rode it in the back seat and even with the sofa-like Millennium trains, it was unbearably rough. I held on for dear life and braced myself the entire ride. I was almost in disbelief at how rough it was. This is by a very, very wide margin the worst GCI I have ever ridden. I assume the owners know that as it either needs a total retrack job or it needs to be torn down, hence the upcoming retirement date. I'm hoping for a retrack, but I don't think that is what is happening. I was sad to find out they were getting rid of a GCI, but after ridding it, I can honestly say, good riddance.

I had to ride this one given its infamy, and it certainly lives up to it. It's a very uncomfortable ride, even in the front row. I felt like I was holding on for dear life on this one, and there is no way I would ride it more than once in a day. What I can say is that the ride ops were some of the nicest in the park (and Hersheypark has some great ops). RMC would have a field day with this one.

Didn't particularly like this in 2006. Re-riding it in 2022has improved my view, the.millennium flyers are a big improvement. It's still a relatively uneventful twister so won't set the world on fire....

But yes I do agree you do have to ride this ride a little defensively to have fun but not hostile. Overall a fun and decently intense woddie and I would say if you are over doing Laff Track or Fahrenheit go and do it.

I think Hershey should look into titan track or some sort of retract, because that's the only significant flaw with the ride in my opinion. It definitely should not be torn down, due to its historical value and otherwise great layout.

I have to say that the ride does need the Ghost Rider treatment (GCI has retracked/rebuilt the entire ride in 2016) but for what it is, Wildcat is a pretty enjoyable coaster. The ride is surprisingly forceful, the pacing is really good, and the layout is fun. If it weren't for it's roughness, the ride would be marathonable but I accept it for what it is. Don't RMC this please!

Wildcat isn't perfect, but for a company's first ever coaster, it's a very impressive first bout. Twisty, exciting, and fast paced with traces of floater air. Unfortunately it's a bit rough and there are moments of slow pacing. A good GCI for sure.
