This ride is severely overhated. Six flags America is my home park and I rode this as both mind eraser and skywinder. It used to absolutely suck as mind eraser but now it is a coaster I ride every time I visit. If you ride in the back of the orange train it is much smoother and a fun ride experience. I am happy six flags America is putting some work into a coaster and the new colors look great. Overall, this coaster looks good in STEAMTOWN and is not too rough. Like I said earlier, this ride is overhated and deserves some more love. You can trust me on this because I’ve ridden this at least 10 times and am always enjoying it. Also, try to ride in the back of the orange train it’s the smoothest. If people say it’s rough, they didn’t ride there.

I enjoyed riding this for the first time in the fall and seeing the woods around it really adds to the beauty of the ride and overall experience. The new burgundy and gold paint and new trains adds a little something but the ride experience was definitely on the more rough side with a noticeable rattle throughout compared to other SLCs I've ridden this year. I would still ride it in the future but would love to see this ride replaced with a unique custom coaster that fits well with the deeps woods and terrain setting. Maybe this could be the new RMC location?

This ride was really fun! I never rode it as Mind Eraser, but I found the vest restraints comfortable and didn't think the track was too rattly. The most notable parts of the ride for me were the sidewinder and double in-line-twists. The paint looks amazing but I wish more theming was added after the renovation. I noticed one thematic item in the queue and a creaking noise at train dispatch but other than that it didn't really give steampunk.

Skywinder was a pleasant surprise! Vest restraints really allow you to appreciate the strong forces and unique inversions of the SLC layout, even with a rattle present. I'm sure with OTSRs this ride would have been unbearable, but I think it's absolutely worth a ride now that it's been redone. 7/10 - who is Professor Screammore I don't know my Six Flags America lore

I guess the name is accurate, because the headache after riding felt like my mind had been erased. Just kidding, I could feel the immense pain that my mind felt while bouncing from side to side. It's never been a good ride. Maybe some of the inversions are nice? Even if that's the case, the profiling is atrocious and the restraints definitely don't help. Haven't ridden in a while, but maybe with the new vest restraints I'll give it one last chance.

By far the worst SLC I've ever ridden. I'm usually an SLC defender, and would even go as far to say that the upgraded installations with the vests are just flatly really good rides; that being said, I do not think vests would save this one. Absurdly rough and unpleasant, shockingly so. Bad!

This being my first SLC, the king of terrible cloned coasters, I was expecting the ride of my life, and not in a good way. Getting into the train, I eyed the “death restraints” with trepidation, and I prayed that my head would sit high enough so as to not have the coaster play pinball with my head. As I sat down, I remarked to myself that the restraints weren’t nearly as bad as they looked, but I assumed the worst was yet to come. The floor dropped with a deafening creak, and we started up the lift. My seat being the back, I waited patiently for my inevitable doom while dwelling on the fact that maintenance was obviously not a priority here. As we crested the lift, I braced myself for the terrible jackhammering that... didn’t happen? It took me until the end of the first drop to realize something was up. The train was rattling, sure, but I had almost no headbanging! I then realized that I could just enjoy the layout for what it is, and was pleasantly surprised by a great and thrilling layout which highlighted the speed of the trains and the intensity of the inversions. Aside from the rattle, which was noticeable but not to the level that I had been told, there were very few things wrong with the ride. Especially since I had been told that this was one of the worst SLCs, this thoroughly exceeded my expectations. Actually, my biggest gripe with the ride is that the rubber from the restraints rubbed off onto my hands and arms, and I had to do a thorough hand washing to get it off. Overall, 7/10 ride, and #4 in the park. 7/10

I've been on two SLCs by the time of this review (the other one is at Darien Lake), this is the worse of the two. The ride is literally falling apart (one of the shells on the top of the train was loose, not a good thing and the floor squeaks when it comes down). The lift hill spells disaster as the cars shift from left to right, on wooden coasters... it's okay because they were not meant to be perfect but this is horrible. Then it's a headbanging assault throughout every moment of the ride. Even your arms will not be saved as they're covered by the horrible restraint. It's a course of suffering and misery, but not all of it is horrible. At least it is somewhat intense but that doesn't say much. Six Flags really doesn't do much with this park so I'm sorry to say that this monstrosity will be around.

How is this possible? How did it continue happening? Its baffling. Did vekoma start out as a torture device company and stumble into amusement park rides accidently? Stupid ride.
