First Drop Pace Intensity Too short
KIngda Ka is one insane ride. The launch is extremely powerful and intense. The ride is very shaky but that adds the experience of this coaster. The drop is also really good and the airtime hill delivers solid airtime. Kingda Ka may be short. But it is one very intense and powerful coaster.

Launch Rattle Discomfort Reliability
Obviously, this will most often be compared with Top Thrill Dragster. TTD gives you an incredibly smooth ride with intense speed. KK has the intense speed, but the shakiness ruins the experience. I was disappointed by how much this ride rattled my teeth. It was a relief when it was done. I rode it once, and had no desire to ride it again. It also broke down three times on the day we were there.

Launch Fun Intensity
The launch goes so fast but the train is silent because you literally can’t scream. Just an incredibly intense, unforgettable experience. Front seat is the best. The King stay the King.

Launch Fun Intensity Rattle
Feels a lot like dragster but quite shakier. Sitll a fantastic launch coaster and it feels good to say I've ridden the tallest coaster in the world

Launch Intensity Too short Reliability
I didn't find it to be that rough and the restraints didn't bother me at all, and I don't care about the trim cuz I never got airtime on TTD anyway, I prefer this over TTD cuz the launch is significantly better, that's the only thing good about this ride but I love myself a nice intense launch.

Launch Intensity Too short Reliability
This scream machine is out-of-control! The launch is insanely powerful as it pulls really strong positive G-forces. The camelback hill before the brakes also delivers some decent floater airtime if you sit in the front row. While this ride may have a rattle, it actually adds to the experience. Even though the ride experience only lasts for 28 seconds, despite the rattle it may have, Kingda Ka is one of my favorite roller coasters I’ve ever ridden!

Launch Pace Intensity Rattle Too short Reliability
I technically rode Kingda Ka twice, but on lap one, the ride broke down, and the train I was on rolled back into the station. Close to park closing, I got in line for Ka again - since El Toro had a ridiculously long queue - and Kingda Ka broke down again just when I was next to ride. I waited it out this time, and finally got on 3rd row. In short - Kingda Ka is not an amazing coaster, definitely not in the same league as Voyage, Skyrush, El Toro, Fury 325, etc., but it’s one hell of a ride for sure. It’s the only coaster that has left me utterly speechless after riding, and absolutely worth a go for the experience (and the bragging rights). Kingda Ka is rough, though - the train was shaking and rattling the whole way through the launch, up/down the top hat, and into the brakes, which did detract from the experience a bit.

The second most intense experience you will ever experience.

Launch Fun Intensity Rattle
Along with Top Thrill Dragster, this will likely be the most intense 30 seconds of your life. It is a bit of a one trick pony and very brief, but the pure insanity of the launch more than makes up for it. It's almost so fast that your body hasn't even processed what has just happened.

Launch Fun Intensity
Credit #68 Pros: -I like going fast. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Cons: -It's an inferior, less intense version of the TTD God at Cedar Point. Also, the back smells like cow poop; literally.

Launch Fun Intensity Too short Harness
It's very short & rough, but it's still insane, & an awesome ride.

Launch Fun Intensity
Very intense launch and amazing sense of speed all through out. The height is intimidating and it’s just straight fun. Not much of a difference from Dragster imo.

Launch Fun Intensity Rattle Harness
Overall very solid ride for tallest coaster in the world. It has shown its age over the years because of how shaky it is but the speed and height 100% pays off for it. The harness does cut off some of the freedom but its not to bad. The best part is definitely when you get to the top because of the amazing view. It is unfortunate with the little airtime you get which is kind of sad because you would think you would get some airtime on the hill at the end but none can really be found. I would rather ride Top Thrill Dragster but overall Kingda Ka is definitely a coaster wonder of the earth is 100 percent a must do when you visit SixFlags Great Adventure.

Launch Fun Intensity
This thing is insane. Most intense coaster I’ve ever been on. The rattle adds to the experience. Absolutely incredible ride.

Launch Fun Intensity Too short Reliability
Kingda Ka is a very thrilling ride that I feel is hated on too much. I rode this after riding TTD and Xcellerator, but I was not let down at all by this ride. I will admit that I've only ridden Kingda Ka and TTD once each, and in the front row for both, which arguably changes the experience. However, for now I am still rating Kingda Ka over TTD still for several reasons. First, it's been a long time (6+ yrs) since I rode TTD, so I do not remember the specifics from that ride very well. Some things that people complain about with Kingda Ka are the restraints and the rattle. I honestly did not feel any distracting rattle in the front seat, and the over-the-shoulder restraints did not get in my way. The pure sense of speed during the launch is the best part of this ride, as the wind is whipping your face. The 270 degree twisting drop is also crazy, and the airtime hill actually did provide a little. This gets a star off for its length and reliability. I hope to ride this and TTD closer together in the future to make better comparisons.

it's good. Its an experience. But if you've done Dragster, you'll be let down. Rattles as everyone says. Restraints aren't the best but dont kill it really. Its just not as good as its little brother.

Airtimes Launch Intensity Rattle Harness
100th credit! Really fun coaster with one of the most intense experiences in the scene. The wind in your face that you get in the front is gnarly, and the enormous hill after the drop delivers way more forces and airtime than you would expect. However, the ridiculously uncomfortable, unnecessary over the shoulder restraints (that are required by New Jersey law, unfortunately) put a damper on what should be an incredible ride, making it just a great ride. The OTSRs become more of an issue in the back of the train, which compared to the glass smooth front is rattly as hell; the rattling itself wouldn't be enough to be too uncomfortable, but the rattle combined with the restraints can make for a ride experience that can be pretty unpleasant. Really the only change this ride needs is TTD's lapbars, but unfortunately the law isn't letting that happen.

Launch Intensity Capacity Harness
Didn't really mind the restraints. Launch is better than TTDs for me + I like the big hill. It rattles a bit but how could it not at such speeds and it's only in 2 places so who cares.

Launch Intensity Rattle Headbanging
7.7 out of 10. best part was the takeoff, and rough trip that is all I got to say lol.
-
Launch Harness Discomfort
Ooooh! Owww! Kingda Cow! The OTSR's and rough track spoiled this ride for me. The airtime hill on the return is real redout territory - military pilots are taught to not pull heavy negative G because it's seriously uncomfortable having blood jammed into your eyes. Kingda Ka gave me a massive headache almost immediately. What a come down from the masterpiece that is Top Thrill Dragster. in fact on the day I remember clearly stating that I preferred the little vekoma booster bike at Flamingo Land. Still a lot of fun to try once, but there are better rides at SFGAdv.

Launch Layout Rattle Theming Harness
Kingda Ka is the tallest roller coaster in the world right now. Just because it’s the tallest doesn’t mean it’s the best. This ride has a lot of cons. Let me start with the pros first. The launch is incredibly fast and amazing. Also you get a perfect view of everything as you slowly make it over the top hill. The drop has the usual twist in it as you plummet down at speeds past 100mph. This ride has many cons. First, it’s harnesses are uncomfortable and you won’t be able to put your hands up. And as you come back down, it will crush your thighs as it tightens because of the speed. This is why Cedar Point’s, Top Thrill Dragster, is better because its harnesses are lap bars and are more comfortable for being the second tallest roller coaster in the world which I’ve been on as well. Second, the launch is insanely rough. Third, the theming is horrible and I still don’t know what it’s supposed to represent. Fourth, it’s location is secluded, by trees and fences, so you’ll only be able to see it’s true height, and not the launch. On Top Thrill Dragster, there are bleachers located right next to the launch so you’ll be able to see its incredible speed as it heads up the hill. And fifth, if you sit in the back or close to the back, get prepared for the worst migraine of your life. So I suggest you sit in the front.

Launch Pace Rattle Too short
Great launch and speed... but only in the front. Very rattly acceleration otherwise. Still, a memorable coaster that will give you many bragging rights!
-
Launch Rattle Capacity Harness
Kingda Ka is the worse version of Top Thrill Dragster. A double loading station that's never used, crappy hard vest restraints, a wonky launch, and an incredibly annoy rattle. And its capacity it worsened by Zumanjaro and its worse reliability.
