Superman: The Ride is one of the flagship attractions at SFNE and for good reason: its location next to the CT river is beautiful, its first drop is intense and goes into a tunnel, its theming is solid, having on board audio of Superman’s theme and cutouts of buildings you weave through, and has a great layout of some camelbacks and dive turns that weave in and out of each other in the 2nd half. My gripes are the uncomfortable lap bars that ops tend to staple you to which I heard are for safety reasons because there used to be T-bars. I have also been on it when it was running slower than normal which can sometimes happen. Regardless, a thrilling ride that’s one of the best!

I was fortunate enough to ride Superman during its first season. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced. The first drop, tunnel, and camelback were phenomenal. The overbooked turnaround was solid, and the two camelbacks that followed were sublime. Then came the forceful clockwise helix that flowed seamlessly into a counter-clockwise helix. Next was a dive into a mist filled tunnel and three speedy airtime hills. The ride ends with a 90° right turn into the brake run. I was blown away by Superman. I am so glad I got to experience it with its minimalistic restraints and debut year smoothness.

This is an extremely long and fun coaster. I have it ranked #3. Amazing view going up the lift. The out and back section provides incredible airtime, and the twister section was very intense. The mist tunnels were very appreciated. My only problem is the WORST restrains in my opinion (I have not yet ridden an SLC). But still, amazing ride

I had a review on this were I criticized the ride for having a pretty bad rattle and terrible lap bars that prevent any airtime. However, yesterday I was able to get better rides and my thoughts on it have changed. Yeah, the restraints are still bad. However, it must've been the amount of stuff in my pockets or something that caused me to actually get room. It's still not comparable to T-bars, but it is enough for me to experience airtime. Also, there wasn't a rattle. My April ride this year with those 2 issues was the very back row. In my opinion, that row is only better for the drop. Everything else improved in my rides in the third to last row. You wait less for a better experience, I definitely recommend it. Now for the ride itself. Like I said, the drop is definitely better in the back row. However, it is still great. Not necessarily getting yanked down it, but it's still an awesome drop. The next hill gives pretty good floater. Any moment of airtime starting with this one wasn't experienced on my first rides. The next turnaround is fairly intense and the following turn further adds to it. You also go through some thematic elements that are decent near misses. The next hill once again gives good floater. The hill after gives slightly stronger airtime, but it is still floater. The second half begins with some S-hills. Surprisingly, these also gave floater. The valleys are turns that have several seconds of pretty good positives. The 3rd S hill gives more floater and is great for photos with it diving into a tunnel, the second of the ride after the one at the bottom of the first drop. After the turn, there's a few airtime hills. The first one that you turn into is good because you go from the turning that you've been doing immediately to floater that was in the first half. The other 2 hills continue to provide this floater. One final turn leads into the brake run. Without bracing, you will have your stomach go into the lap bar, but it isn't painful. Would Superman be much better with T-bars. Yes, definitely. Is it still a great ride? Yes! SFNE's top 2 is amazing and I'm glad I can further enjoy this ride. I still prefer the Ride of Steel clones because of the T-bars leading to ejector, but Superman is still one of the best (traditional) hyper coasters I've been on.

Superman was something special...I can see why it rated so highly in the past. It felt a lot like Millennium Force on a slightly smaller frame, but had a better combination of airtime elements and was more dynamic overall. In it's prime, this would've been a top 5 for me, but there was a noticeable rattle and my knees took a bit of a beating, so while immensely enjoyable, I can't rate it as high as others with a similar profile. I really like Intamin hypers - they aren't as smooth as the B&M's but they feel more dangerous, which I really like.

Superman has excellent theming and I love the narrow-gauge Intamin track that sort of makes the ride more visually impressive than the wide B&M track. It has lots of airtime hills and swoops around quite a bit with two well placed tunnels. The river view is amazing going up that slow lift hill. For comparisons, this is like a slightly smaller Millenium Force with the overbanked turn after the first drop and the big airtime hills at high speed. The problem is that Millenium Force (and I305) is much longer and taller and absolutely blows this thing out of the water with its epic scale. I like Superman but there’s just no way it’s in the same league as the Intamin gigas. This was on my bucket list since it was built in 2000 and I’m so glad to finally ride it a bunch of times.

You get a great view of the park and lake next to the park, the first drop is by far the highlight of the ride but it is still very enjoyable after the drop. Great intensity, great speed, and just a ton of fun. The only thing stopping this roller coaster from a perfect ride is its restraints. The lap bar is not very comfortable during the ride, but other than that an incredible experience.

The layout from a macro perspective is an all-timer though, and those twin camelbacks are not to be trifled with. I can see why this ride was king back in the day, but now it's just outclassed. I'd love to see a modern take on this layout somewhere with the profiling and forces we've come to expect from new Intamin (and without those awful lap bars!).

Growing up as a kid I remember when Millennium Force and this ride would trade the Golden Ticket for best steel coaster. I would always indignantly say that Force was better being a Cedar Point kid (having never been to SFNE). Cut to 2023 when I finally get on this and man, I get it now. What a fantastic ride. Incredibly unique and diverse layout. Very forceful positives, really stellar airtime. Awesome location right by the river. Had I ridden this with T-bars I would happily put this over Millennium... but I did not ride with the T-Bars. The U-Bricks are as bad as everyone says, and cuts back on a fair bit of enjoyment I would get. I place it slightly behind Millennium for this reason alone, but the fact a ride with restraints this bad can still be this good is a testament to the design of the ride.

There was one thing that I adored about the ride, and that was the beautiful lake on the side of the coaster (yes I know it’s a river I just call it a lake for sharts and giggles). This ride is good, but if you think it’s better than Wicked Cyclone, you stinkay.

I love this ride so much. You get ejected out of your seat on every hill. Would be my number one if they still had the t-bars, however, I can't fault them for that as an accident outlawed the t-bar in Massachusetts. I do think that they could get a clever workaround by using the superman ride of steel six flags america t-bars with metal bars on the side of your legs, making them technically not a t-bar. Great ride, and if you sit back then scoot forward the lab bar doesn't hurt, and you get some room. I'm pretty sure I rode this in the middle and it was a long time ago when I rode it so I need to go back and get a back row ride on this beast!

Superman The Ride is an incredible coaster. Superman the ride basically has possibly one of the best coaster layouts ever. The restraints are actually not that bad as you can get room with them. The pacing on it is amazing as it flys through the layout until the trim at the end. The airtime is amazing as it give every type of airtime you’d want in a coaster. Ejector, flojector and floater. Superman The Ride is fantastic and that’s why it’s a top 15 coaster for me.

At first I thought this ride was disappointing. being my 300th credit. However I really warmed up to this ride & now prefer it to 99% of people I know who have ridden it! The key is you have to make sure your restraint is as close to your knees as possible, that way the airtime will be felt to the max. This coaster has an amazing blend of airtime & intensity & the pacing is absolutely wicked. It’s such a long ride & it doesn’t stop. Definitely my favorite coaster in the park & a truly underrated ride.

I used to complain about the lap bar but I haven't had an uncomfortable ride in a while after knowing how to position myself better. The first drop and airtime hills are amazing, with the 4th hill having absolutely insane ejector airtime. Favorite seat is the back, but the front is just as good due to the sense of speed. Everything about this ride is just great.. the operations, the capacity, the ride length, the location, etc.

C’est un peu Goliath à Walibi Holland en plus gros (et sans les spirales soporifiques) ! Papy Superman nous fait pas mal ressentir les effets de son âge avec l’effet caddie comme sur EGF… Le layout reste quand même iconique, y’a d’excellents airtimes notamment sur les deux Camelback après l’Overbanked Turn (bizarrement ni le premier Camelback appart au front ni la First Drop n’offrent d’excellents Ejectors et la First Drop a une shape vraiment étrange on-ride) et ça vaut quand même 5 étoiles même si Intamin a fait bien mieux depuis, déjà 10 après avec Skyrush/I305 ce qui est plutôt bon signe. Et les laps bars sont vraiment étranges, assez énormes et peuvent s’avérer gênantes (faut retenir que Superman y gagnerait vraiment à retrouver ses Lap Bars classiques à la EGF/Goliath). Après 10 tours je finirai par trouver le super-héros vraiment excellent, extrêmement re-ridabe et très sous-côté et je le préfère presque à WiCy au final.

This is a really long ride, too, along with having a perfect layout. The out and back first half and the twister second half is the greatest combination of negatives and positives in one ride. And the airtime on this ride would be so good if not for the lap bar. But even then, the airtime is still pretty good. And the positives in the second half is really good. Such a fun ride.

The U bricks slam on your thighs making it very uncomfortable. I am willing to look past it, but it does make the ride a lot less rerideable (when otherwise it would have great rerideability!) They should really do something about the restraints, because it would be a perfect coaster without them.

This ride blew me away. It is one hundred percent a front-row ride. In the back it is good but the front makes it elite. The first drop is nothing special except for the location, it heats up after this, however. The first airtime hill is very strong sustained airtime in the front. You turn around and go over a bunny hill that is solid and then hit two amazing airtime hills. The first is very sustained but the second is the true star of the show. This is my favorite airtime hill I've experienced. It is so strong and sustained. I genuinely believe that the first half of this ride has better airtime than the first half of El Toro. The twister section is very intense and the tunnel dive is awesome. You finish strong with three airtime hills that all deliver, and a high-speed turn into the brakes. I fell in love with this ride. I don't mind the restraints like a lot of people do but they definitely aren't the best. I see why this was considered one of the world's best 15 years ago and I think it should still be in that conversation today.

Superman the Ride is such an odd coaster. The best moments on this ride are awesome but as a whole a lot of the ride doesn't feel like its doing much. The first half has some awesome airtime and a really forceful overbank with the it happens hill being one of the greatest elements ever. After that the airtime isn't the best but it still maintains a solid sense of speed and the tunnel dive is really cool. A pretty inconsistent ride experience but still a lot of fun.

The helix in the middle of the spaghetti bowl is also surprisingly intense too. The restraints also a really great despite what people say. Overall the ride has a lot of dead spots and definitely has the potential to be a lot better if it could run faster.

I feel like this coaster is highly overrated. It's not bad by any means, it's a great ride, but I feel like I overhyped it too much in my mind. I don't mind the restraints, they were fine in my opinion, but I felt like nothing stuck out to me. I don't understand why so many people love and praise this ride. I feel like it's just a basic hypercoaster. I probably should get another ride on this the next time I'm on the east coast.
