Fun Rattle Pointless

its kinda forgettable, but kinda fun. its minda inbetween a kiddy coaster and a family coaster. bit too intense for a kiddy coaster but kinda boring for a family coaster. rattled a bit for me, but i was in the back so duh. the only significant problem with this rife are the tooth chipper brakes. they slam you down really hard almost like you crashed into something. otherwise pretty cool!

Discomfort

It's not as bad as other Zierers but this one was still not fun. The brakes are pretty hard so you get slammed into the restraint which was painful and the layout does absolutely nothing.

The lap bar is very weird, as it comes towards you in between your legs, and in shorts ( like I was) it pinched your skin. Too many brake runs. At least it had a good capacity.

Theming Fun

Update August 2023: This was quite a nice surprise compared to what I remembered. I rode it in row 1 and the transitions are actually really good and it's butter smooth. Some of the transitions in the first half are quite whippy. Discomfort isn't a real issue in the front part of the seat too. A better ride than Voyage Dans Le Ciel. The slow banked turns at the end are still awkward and the brakes are quite violent. Update October 2022: The roughness on this coaster is actually not that bad but the inline seating is definitely a problem. It is incredibly uncomfortable. I was behind my friend and he told me that being in the front part of the seat was painful, I even banged my head with him on one of the jerky transitions. Speaking of those transitions, they are taken so slowly at the end that you get pinned to the side of the train. The theming in the queue is a nice touch though. Ok, let’s talk about downtime. This coaster is always down at least once when I visit the park and this time and this time it broke down right in front of me. The problem this time came from a brake at the final brake run. This ride has weird banking. It seems as though it is not banked enough where it should be banked a little more and it is weirdly banked way too much at the end where it crawls through the final section. This ride is weirdly unique and charming in its own rights. I no longer think it’s one of the worst coasters ever as it is fitting in the park and I hope the park keeps it around for the foreseeable future and I don’t know how it rode before its retrack between the 2016 and 2017 seasons but I definitely think the retrack will help with keeping it around. I can overlook the discomfort and appreciate the oddly unique layout and it is a good fit for families who are not looking for huge thrills. It absolutely needs a raise in my rankings and I will give it 2 stars compared to the 1.5 stars that I gave it originally. Beware of the brakes though, they hit pretty hard. Original review: This coaster is one of the worst coasters I've ever ridden, its capacity is atrocious, I mean when I went there the queue stretched out well beyond the entrance. The ride has an unbearable rattle and the turns are extremely jerky. Of its brake runs is awkwardly banked to the right and the first brake run has booster wheels before it because the train dosen't have enough speed to make it up there. That just seems like bad design to me... oh and the ride is at least from my experience really unreliable, when I went there in 2018 the ride didn't even open from the park's opening to its closure. At least S.O.S. Numerobis, which is worse, doesn't have an hour of wait time. For all the people that dump on Goudurix, this is worse and I personally think Goudurix is more ridedable than this and I still don't undersand why Goudurix has a worse rating than this piece of crap, however i think this has three things that push it up to 1.5 stars for me: 1. This ride has no assigned seating, you can choose where you ride. 2. It's a uniquly weird coaster. 3. The theming in the queue and station is good, but when you're on the ride itself, it's got none when you're an the ride aside from a lazy netting over the lift hill and a sun a the end of the lift hill.

Rattle Dead spots

This ride should be called Vol de freins (flight of brakes!) Why so many brakes on the last section! Seems super unnecessary and really took away from any enjoyment I had in the first section. This ride was mostly enjoyable just because I sat in the car behind my brother and could just see him rattling around all over the place as he wasn't prepared for the first drop, had a good laugh. But the coaster itself pretty pointless to be honest.. might have been fun without 2 of those brake sections but it's almost like what's the point in riding if you're going to kill all speed that is gained.

Layout Discomfort Dead spots

First half of the ride was surprisingly nice, having a lot of cool interactions with the path and other trains. The second half is just a giant dead spot. The brakes are way too sharp.

Fun old school family coaster, not too intense. Layout is nothing spectacular. Mediocre ride

Sorry I could add only 3 cons. This is a pointless coaster, with no redeeming attributes. It is rough, shaky, has abrupt brake stops and has terrible capacity.

Fun family coaster. Neither particularly good nor bad.

Has a little rattle to it but it’s quite a rare model. In total not too bad for a little family ride but kind of boring.

Discomfort Tear it down!

I went on this ride, because of my friend. She doesn't dare to do the big roller coasters, so she thought it was a good idea to do this one. It wasn't. I'm not going to do this one again. It's old, it's no fun. For some reason you have to wait a long time to get on it, too.

Location Rattle Discomfort Tear it down!

This is by far, not even close, the worse rollercoaster I've ever ridden. My knees constantly hit the sides of the train. It hurted quite a lot, ride it for the credit. If you don't need the credit, I'd advise you to skip this ride.

Fun Rattle

Good layout on a unique ride which is quite enjoyable, but can be a bit shaky/rough at times.

I really wanted to like this one because it's a very unique ride but unfortunately I found it to be quite a strange and uncomfortable ride experience.

Theming Nice surprise! Fun Too short

Vol d'Icare... I can't help but agree with the website, it's a "weird, winged contraption". I do like it, like the rest of the Parc Asterix coasters, but it's still a family coaster. It was actually kinda smooth last time I visited. It's not my favorite Parc Asterix coaster (I prefer Oziris), but it's still worth a ride.
