Dragon Challenge - Hungarian Horntail was one of two dueling BM inverts that was themed to the dragons from Harry Potter and featured a themed queue to that of a lair. The Horntail one was a bit slower than the Fireball one but had better inversions in my opinion. The pacing was intense and the inversions featured a near miss double loop when dueling, zero g rolls, Immelmanns, and corkscrews. The ride was smooth and not uncomfortable and you can tell this was well maintained by the park

Dragon Challenge - Chinese Fireball was one of two dueling BM inverts that was themed after the dragons in Harry Potter. The queue was cave themed and the ride was intense and had great pacing. I felt like the Fireball side was a bit faster than the Horntail side and it features a near miss double loop and barrel rolls, Immelmanns, and other inversions. The ride was smooth and not uncomfortable which adds to why this was such a quality ride

Revenge of the Mummy is one of the better rides at Universal Studios Florida. It is a highly themed indoor dark coaster that connects to The Mummy trilogy and features pyrotechnics, screens, mechanical effects, sudden drops and launches, and even a hilarious fake ride ending near the end which further elevates it from other indoor coasters. The launch is startling, and the ride includes a backwards section as well which is pretty intense in the dark. The park has taken care of this ride over the years and it shows. Give Brendan his coffee!

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts is not your typical roller coaster. I wouldn’t exactly call it a coaster: as it’s more like a dark ride with screens that has roller coaster elements. I will say that some of the sudden drops and turns sync well with what’s happening on the screens whether we’re on a minecart trying to escape from goblins or fighting a huge dragon. It immerses you in a story and it’s tough to rate this when comparing it to your conventional coaster. It doesn’t have a lift hill or launches but is still an entertaining experience nonetheless.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is a compact and unique ride experience that lets you choose your own music track to listen to as you complete the layout. You used to have over 30 different songs to choose from ranging from rock to pop to rap however I hear they’ve limited it to 3-5. The lift hill goes straight up as you go through the rings and hit that first drop into the classic dive loop. The layout is very unique as it even goes through one of the buildings! The brake section does slow it down a bit on the back half but the turns and twists are still fun. The setting next to the stage with palm trees makes this better too.

Flashback is one of many Boomerang clones throughout the country that has been at the park for a while. It’s a good reliable option when other rides at the park have big waits. You get the classic rattle and headbanging of a boomerang and when I was in the front, my legs barely had enough room so I had to squeeze them in. I still had a fun ride on this regardless because of the forces of the 2 inversions going through them forwards and backwards.

The Joker at SFNE is amongst many Joker clones throughout the Six Flags chains that offers 4D spinning mechanics across a very smooth, but short track. You can choose to either sit facing towards the lift or away from the lift and also have the option to wait in line for the right wing or left wing. What I like about these are that every ride is different and unique and you will never have the same ride twice. The inversions and twists are intense, but it has low capacity and a very short ride time not to mention you having to wait a while once you get to the bottom. I will also say the one at SFGrA spins more. Fun to lap when you can.

Batman: The Dark Knight is a great stepping stone coaster to some more intense floorless coasters. They run 2-3 trains and it has great capacity. This coaster is very smooth for being over 20 years old and the ride is quite comfortable. The inversions feature a loop, corkscrews, and a roll or two. The ride is not as intense or forceful and is quite short, but the pacing and smoothness make up well for it.

Superman: The Ride is one of the flagship attractions at SFNE and for good reason: its location next to the CT river is beautiful, its first drop is intense and goes into a tunnel, its theming is solid, having on board audio of Superman’s theme and cutouts of buildings you weave through, and has a great layout of some camelbacks and dive turns that weave in and out of each other in the 2nd half. My gripes are the uncomfortable lap bars that ops tend to staple you to which I heard are for safety reasons because there used to be T-bars. I have also been on it when it was running slower than normal which can sometimes happen. Regardless, a thrilling ride that’s one of the best!

Wicked Cyclone is an RMC recreation of the old wooden Cyclone coaster that is one of the best rides you’ll have at a park. It is loosely themed to storm chasers and has a great twisting layout that delivers banked turns, stalls, outward hills, and a steep and thrilling first drop that dictates the pace of the entire ride. It is relentless from start to finish with many hills ejecting you from your seat. I recommend riding in the front and back seats to get the best experiences. The lap bar is all that’s needed. This ride is deserving of its praise!
