First Drop Rattle Discomfort Tear it down!

Watch out for this coaster here. If you can handle some really rough tracks, you’ll have a blast. It is definitely a fast out and back wooden coaster, it’s a good representation of the quintessential wooden coaster. That being said, oh boy it’s rough. Don’t even think about riding in the back if you have any sort of back problems, this thing jackhammers so bad going into the outer banked turns that it amazes me it’s still operating. This thing definitely not going to be around in a few years and I’m totally fine with that. Finngers crossed for an RMC but heck I’d take even just a retrack, if something doesn’t happen soon I feel like this thing is going to shake itself apart.

    Inversions Nice surprise! Intensity Discomfort

I was pretty shocked by this ride. My only other experience with a standing coaster was on Scorcher at SFOG and this is waaaaay better than Scorcher. Not near as uncomfortable and way smoother, it is actually a pretty enjoyable coaster. The kicker is that it starts to get uncomfortable by the time you’re getting back to the load station and Carowinds never puts good operators on this coaster. Give it a try if you’re near it and the lines are short for sure, you maybe surprised.

    Airtimes Nice surprise! Duration Discomfort

I love what the retrack has done to this coaster. It’s so much more rideable and noticeably smoother, the airtime hills are fantastic. My only gripe is the end brake run, man those trains stop so fast the back of some of the cars pops up.

    Airtimes Intensity Rattle

I hadn’t ridden this thing in years, and man it’s gotten a bit rougher. Still such a good coaster though, it’s shorter than i232 up at Carowinds but packs so much more of a punch! Great airtime on the hills, and man that helix is forceful!

    Inversions Fun Intensity Capacity Disappointing!

Over Georgia must really be cutting back on maintenance, how do you have three trains, a dual loading platform, and only run one train? The wait was so long, but the coaster is very solid. If they could run more trains, this would be an easy 4-4.5 star coaster.

    Airtimes Inversions Intensity Too short

There have been very few coasters that have blown my mind on a first ride, this is one of the few. This was my first RMC and it’s a good one. It’s definitely on the smaller side, but it packs such a punch. So smooth, but soooo intense. The inversions are insane, the first drop picks up speed so fast, the ejector from some of those little hills is good, it’s just great. 10/10 coaster, can’t wait to ride more RMCs.

    Inversions Nice surprise! Intensity

This coaster amazes me, I can’t believe how well such an old coaster stacks up against modern coasters. The inversions are super forceful and some of the drops and banks are surprisingly forceful as well. I also love that it’s more approachable to younger coaster riders, my nephew absolutely loves this one.

    First Drop Inversions Hangtime Capacity

One hell of a eurofighter, just wish the lines wouldn’t get so long. The layout is great and I love how the little 6 passenger trains rip through it.

    Discomfort Layout

This is definitely the worst Arrow mine train I’ve been on, the transitions are super jerky, it’s not fast, there is just nothing to redeem this one.

Inversions Nice surprise! Fun Rattle Headbanging

This ride surprised me quite a bit. I went into it with no expectations and ended up loving it. I do have a soft spot for Arrow, but this ride really surprised me with it’s super fun inversions and overall experience. The new paint job looks great as well, props to Carowinds for breathing some new life into this old beast. Definitely don’t ride this if you’re sensitive to rattling or head banging, I am used to rougher rides but this one was a bit too rough for my wife. Try keeping your head forward going into and through the corkscrew, it’s definitely the toughest part of the ride.

    Headbanging Harness

I didn’t know an invert could be so shaky! You’re gonna bang around a lot on this coaster and it probably won’t be worth it unless you’re a kid. The shoulder restraints are covered in a thick foam material so that the head banging is at least against something soft, but it doesn’t change the fact that you’re still getting banged around for one kind of fun bank and that’s about it.

    Discomfort Pointless

I mean, it’s a little kid coaster. My nephew absolutely loves it, it’s his first ride at Carowinds every time. Great for the littler ones, but doesn’t offer much of anything except some minor whiplash for anyone besides the kids though.

Airtimes First Drop Smoothness Dead spots Intensity

So Intimidator is kind of a mixed bag. Overall, it’s a B&M giga. It’s like pizza, even when it’s not great it’s still good. The first drop is as intense as any big coaster over 200ft and the airtime hills are loads of fun. My biggest complaint is trim and the second half of the course. You get so much speed trimmed off both on the airtime hills and after them, and it leads to the second half being pretty lack luster. The closest thing I have to compare it to is Goliath down at SFOG, and that coaster is solid all the way throughout. Overall, a good coaster for sure, but it could definitely be better.

Airtimes First Drop Too short Discomfort Dead spots

My favorite wooden coaster in the park for sure (sorry Hurler), this one is loads of fun. Yes it’s tiny and short and old and uncomfortable, but the first drop and the airtime always puts a smile on my face. A great first coaster for any younger riders and a good one to jump on if you’re in the area.

    Airtimes Inversions Launch

I was not expecting to love this coaster as much as I do, but it’s easily my number 2 coaster at Carowinds. My only experience with MACK rides before this was Ricochet and Slinky Dog Dash, so I went in with low expectations and had them blown out of the water. The stall airtime you get on almost every inversion is fantastic, and the ejector airtime you get setting in the back row is insane! The launches are great, the mid course one being the better of the two. Overall an awesome coaster, I ride it every time I come to Carowinds.

    Inversions Fun Intensity Headbanging

An awesome B&M invert, my favorite of the three I’ve ridden. The first drop is awesome and the coaster just keeps going from there, lots of awesome inversions and great intensity. My only complaint is that it seems to be getting slightly rougher on some of the banks and inversions, nothing too bad at all but worth a mention.

    First Drop Capacity Comfort

My absolute favorite coaster, super intense and fast. The first drop is insane, I’ve ridden fury multiple times and I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. The capacity on this ride is insane too. I usually go to Carowinds on sundays and with the good operators they usually staff the ride with and the capacity there is almost never a long line for this absolute beast of a coaster. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to go to Carowinds.
