Inversions Intensity Headbanging
It has some intensity with the inversions but you bang your head a few times.

Capacity Rattle Headbanging Discomfort
Very little arm room, head banging, and pretty boring. Overall an alright ride.
-
Inversions Pace Fun Headbanging
very underrated, reminds me if raptor was less compact, more like gatekeeper. hit my head a couple times, but besides that it's really fun.
-
Nice surprise! Intensity Smoothness
This ride is much better than I expected! It's pretty intense as I got a greyout after the looping, some transitions provide some great whip and the ride is pretty long as well. Really good B&M coaster!

First Drop Headbanging Inversions
To begin with, while I love coasters, I have some pretty picky preferences. Unfortunately, for the most part, Rougarou fails. The main problem is the layout. Except for the final corkscrew (which is solidly snappy), the inversions are taken at JUST the wrong speed, neither fast nor slow enough to give many forces. However, the biggest offense are the fast transitions that occur during the middle of the ride. As opposed to the inversions, which are too tame, these are too INTENSE. Even with B&M’s signature graceful profiling, transitions like this on a ride with OTSR’s are a recipe for some serious headbanging. One major pro I will give though is the first drop, which is one of my favorites on a looping coaster. After the pre-drop, you do a 180 to the right, but unlike on many loopers, the drop is straight, and you unbank as you crest it, giving some very nice floater air-time that transitions from sideways to straight up. Apart from that, though, this ride sucks pretty bad. If you don’t go to Cedar Point that often (just like me, unfortunately), prioritize just about any other ride than this.

Fun Headbanging
A good floorless coaster at a park with a stacked lineup. Rougarou has some great elements and a twisted hill that surprised me. Headbanging can happen though so it's best to enjoy the ride with keeping your head leaned forward.
-
Intensity Headbanging
Ok floorless. Head was banging all over the place on those big restraints but wasn’t horrible.
-
Inversions Headbanging Harness
Rough with headbanging, some forceful inversions.
-
Inversions Pointless
its a fun ride but its too overshadowed at cedar point
-
Duration
They make you buy lockers and i could not buy one. Had to wait for my grandparents to get my bag. When they got the bag and i went to get back to my party of people in the line they kicked me out and told me i could not ride. When i got off the ride and walked to the exit I saw people walking off the ride with bigger bags then mine. Terrible staff. Fix ur park cedar point.

Inversions Nice surprise! Layout Headbanging Dead spots
I actually liked this coaster more than I thought I would. Sure it was a little rough but I grayed out once and thought each inversion was a nice surprise as I had low expectations. It’s a nice filler to Cedar Points lineup
-
Nice surprise! Intensity Smoothness
Why is it that everyone thinks that this is the worst coaster at Cedar Point!? Just, I honestly don't get it. Rougarou isn't the best coaster at Cedar Point, but I still think it's very underrated and quite good, especially after my last ride on it. Unlike Raptor of Valravn, this ride is quite smooth and intense. I feel as if this ride's days are numbered since everyone hates it, so I guess I'll get my last rides on it.

Inversions Location Smoothness Headbanging
I don’t get the hate for this ride. I just don’t. Sure it has a couple bits of headbanging, but I’ve seen far worse cases than Rougarou. But this negativite reputation may be why I have such a high opinion on it, because it always has such a short line that I am likely to get on it each time I go to Cedar Point. I absolutely love the location of it being right on a swamp and I always love looking at the bluegill and carp hanging out in the waters below. When I would actually get on the ride, (usually in the back because it has the shortest line,) I would be greeted by various sights of Iron Dragon, Top Thrill Dragster, and the rest of the midway as the train climbs the lift hill and whisks me over to the first drop. The rest of the ride is a smooth and fast paced compilation of inversions and turns with a couple portions that jank me around but don’t damage my opinion on the ride overall. When all is said and done, there is nothing like sitting on that brake run on top of the water as you get yourself one last glance of the swamp before going into the station, absolutely blown away by this experience. Overall, I don’t get the hate for Rougarou. It may have a couple rough spots, but in my eyes, there are far more positives than negatives for this ride. Number Score: 8/10 Letter Score: B Pros: Smoothness, nice location, inversions, good surprise. Cons: A couple rough spots.

Capacity Location Layout Discomfort
i used to grey-out at the bottom of the first hill on mantis, the only standup i've ever ridden and it was intense. and now that it's floorless it's just.... forgettable
-
Inversions Nice surprise! Fun
too overhated by enthusiasts. it was actually really fun
-
Location Headbanging Tear it down! Layout
This ride is the equivalent of your mom walking in while you were jerking it.
-
Airtimes Pace Intensity
I only got 1 ride on this during my 2021 Ohio Trip and I got to admit that Rougarou is a pretty solid floorless coaster. Nothing too special, but the inversions are fun, the pacing is pretty good, and the 2nd half features some pretty intense moments. The ride also features a couple of airtime moments, like the drop-out of the mid-course block brake. Overall, Rougarou is one of the better floorless roller coasters out there and it’s a great fit for Cedar Point.
-
Intensity Headbanging Harness Dead spots
Boring asf, mid-first drop, no airtime and painful at times
-
Capacity Headbanging Inversions Dead spots
The slanted vertical loop after the batwing was very intense but, this ride had some dead spots after its mid-course. The corkscrew also had uncomfortable headbanging. This does not stand up to all of the other coasters at Cedar Point
-
Inversions Hangtime Headbanging
Rougarou is an alright coaster. It has good inversions and hangtime, however it has the B&M floorless over the shoulder restraints, which cause headbanging on the corkscrew
-
Capacity Inversions Nice surprise! Dead spots
The coaster has some nice inversions which feel whippy and strong and the ride is overall a nice surprise for the reputation it gets, obviously it's not as good as steel vengeance or maverick but whose to say it's not a bad ride, although I do admit the ride near the end has a few dead spots where it doesn't really do much, but the ride is overall fun and wasn't a disappointment
-
Inversions
This coaster roars. I love love love the soundscape around this coaster. It feels like an older b&m layout and the forces kinda reminded me of Black Mamba at Phantasialand. It's not bad, but definitely not the best. It'd be anywhere but Cedar Point it'd probably be a standout attraction, here it's decent filler.
-
First Drop Capacity Nice surprise! Headbanging
Because its at CP, Rougarou is definitely seen as an afterthought. The smallest B&M at the park just doesn't "sound" exciting. I find it extremely underrated as a result. The double down first drop with a turn is shockingly fun and unique. Reminds me of Raging Bull but I actually like it more because of the turn element even if its not as forceful of a drop. The layout is fun with lots of good inversions. The only downside is head banging as the over the shoulder restraints are quite hard.
-
Inversions Nice surprise! Intensity
Rougarou is a coaster I’ve gotten good and bad rides on but I haven’t gotten a rough one on it since my first trip. It has a very similar layout to green lantern and every element is really intense and fun. The drop gives some good floater and there are some good snappy moments throughout the layout. I also like the photogenic placement over the water.
-
Airtimes Inversions Intensity
Holy shit. By far the most underrated coaster and currently the best B&M I've ridden, that list including Fury 325. The rides helices ride similar to i305's first turn and they just try to kill you. Then there's snap like elements that are close to i305s. The first drop and drop off mcbr give good floajector. Low-key a masterpiece.
-
First Drop Harness Inversions Discomfort
I call rougarou rougharoo. The only positive aspects of this coaster is the first drop and the first huge loop. The second half of rougarou is so aweful feels like I am in an Iron Maiden. I felt like I was going to puke twice on the coaster. There was so much headbanging on the inversions on rougarou that it felt like a nail was in my head. I think it should be torn down.
-
Location Headbanging
The location is great. Also, a short walk from Millie if it’s down. The head banging can be rough.
-
Inversions Smoothness Disappointing! Dead spots
The layout of this one had so much potential but it was kinda boring and slow, disappointing!
-
Inversions Rattle
Rougarou is fun. It's not a particularly fantastic floorless coaster, but it has some fun inversions. Ultimately, though, it's held back by a noticeable rattle. Not a bad coaster by any means. Just not particularly impressive.
-
Inversions Fun
I greatly enjoyed this one. While there isn't too much to set it apart from other B&Ms, this ride is fun, and I love how low to the ground it is. I rode it in the front row, and the rattle is barely noticeable from that row.
-
Inversions Intensity Headbanging
A decent floorless coaster with some great huge inversions. Has a headbanging issue though
-
Inversions Nice surprise! Intensity
This was a big shock when I returned to Cedar Point. I remembered it being fun but not very intense. However this time it ran really fast and had some surprising moments. The first half was really intense especially that inclined loop. There was also some very snappy transitions like the one before the MCBR which is my favorite element on the ride. There is also some great floater on the first drop and drop off the MCBR. The ride also does have a few jerky transitions and sometimes a little rattle but it doesn’t bother me at all. Overall this is a very underrated coaster, my favorite B&M at the park and my favorite floorless coaster.
-
Theming Rattle Headbanging
hurt my head lol but a fun ride nonetheless. not much to say tbh
-
Fun Duration
I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, because the last time I rode it it was Mantis. I was a little disappointed to discover it had since been rebranded and it was no longer a stand up coaster. It was fun though! The line wasn't too bad either.
-
Pointless
This is literally the most forgettable coaster I've ever ridden.
-
Fun Layout Duration
When this was the stand-up coaster Mantis, I couldn't stand it because it always made my calf muscles cramp like crazy. As Rougarou, I can actually enjoy the ride! The layout is really good, and there are a lot of fun elements.
-
I like floorless rides and this one didn't disappoint. When I think of a generic coaster drawn by someone who doesn't know a ton about coasters i think of this layout lol.
-
Inversions Intensity Rattle Headbanging
It’s a very fun ride, but it has a slightly noticeable rattle that can cause headbanging, especially on the dive loop. Still a fun ride though!
-
Capacity Intensity Discomfort
Like scream at six flags magic mountain but much better and pretty theme. Just a touch worse than hulk and kumba.
-
First Drop Inversions Layout Dead spots
Best floorless out there, so underrated. 2nd B&M at CP behind Raptor. Do not skip this coaster!
-
Surprisingly very good!
-
Intensity Layout Headbanging
pretty good ride, pretty intense, but the headbanging is cringe asf
-
Fun
Very underrated floorless. I love the helix and S bend. I was very surprised with how much I enjoyed this, because everyone trashes this thing, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
-
Inversions Fun Layout
Overall, a solid floorless coaster. I wouldn't say it does any one thing exceptionally well, but everything it does is consistently good. It does lack some originality, and overall I prefer Dominator at Kings Dominion, but it's still pretty fun. I feel that it gets overlooked because the competition is so high at this park.
-
It's not a bad ride but being at Cedar Point means it gets completely outshined. It was a little rough and isn't as good as the floorless coasters that weren't originally standups, but it's still fun.
-
Inversions Intensity Rattle Theming Reliability
I can't believe I'm thinking this even upon reflection, but... I'd rather ride its neighbor Iron Dragon. It's so loud (they didn't fill the supports with sand like they usually do on B&M's) and the inversions are just dull. It doesn't do what a B&M is supposed to do. Rougarou is better since they got rid of the stand-up trains, an old paint job, and the Mantis name but you can tell they were hoping for a better result after the changes
-
Nice surprise! Location Layout
Surprise of the park for me. I actually loved it. Got a really good ride in the front row (weird for a floorless). Very smooth and a nice layout. It was just a solid ride for me.
-
First Drop Rattle Headbanging
It's not that great. It's a joke compared to the other floorless coasters I've ridden. (Superman: Krypton Coaster & Hydra) The drop is fun, and I don't usually complain about rattles, but this rattle is way too noticeable for me not to complain.
-
Straight trash homie
-
Intensity Headbanging Discomfort
I got a bad ride. I will try say as unbiased as possible. It looks good. If its a regular ride i got. Then its a 2 stars and its sh i t.

-
Inversions Location Rattle Headbanging
fun but a little rough. Cedar Point should have built a ground-up floorless.
-
Inversions Headbanging Dead spots
By far the roughest B&M I've ever ridden. While the ride starts strong with its great initial inversion, the ride quickly becomes a headbanging machine while not providing much in elements other than some really awkward transitions. To add further insult to injury, the mid-course brake run is awful, and saps the ride of any energy and fun that it had managed to maintain until then.
-
Hmm, Rougarou. The conversion of Mantis has a few problems. The ride is relatively smooth on the back row; however, if you watch closely you can see significant shuffling amongst the cars in front of you - by row 3 there must be at least an inch of side-shuffling. Now, it's true, I find the back rows of virtually all older B&M's smoother in the back row, but in Rougarou's case it means it pays to be very selective on seating. This is a shame, because what I found up to the mid course brake run is actually a pretty decent sitdown looper with some hints of Kumba going on. It's certainly more memorable than Mantis; which 13 years earlier I have largely erased from my memory. The transition into the MCB, however, and final block of the course through the corkscrew are bloody awful regardless of seat. The ride has already undergone some pretty severe surgery, perhaps, it needs some more to the latter half of the route to "fix" it. I do wonder if it's days are numbered. Ridership is low, queues were non-existent even with the park busy. Time will tell.

Location Intensity Smoothness Too short
Rougarou is a fantastic B&M Floorless Coaster. I love all the Floorless coasters I’ve ridden and Rougarou is at the bottom of that list but it’s still awesome. The ride is very intense throughout and sits in an awesome location with the first drop and Loop Over Water. The inclined loop is one of my favorite elements and the twister section at the end is pretty fun. The only reason Rougarou doesn’t get higher is because the layout is quite short with only 4 Inversions.
-
Inversions Headbanging Dead spots
Much better as a floorless than a stand-up, but it's really not an exciting ride. The corkscrew off of the brake run is one of the worst, most painful transitions I've felt on a B&M coaster.
-
Inversions Fun
7.8 out of 10! Like the new feeling sitting down than the standup one of the past
-
Inversions Intensity Layout Headbanging
This stand-up coaster meant layout works beautifully for a floorless coaster. The first drop, three loop varieties, twisted airtime hill, and twisty second half are so unique from any other floorless, and more physically intense than any other either. The downsides are that it's short with less inversions, and headbanging kicks in after the inclined loop. I was able to move my head forward to avoid it, but others may not. But since I was able to negate the roughness, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
