Theming Launch Fun Reliability
INSANE launch. I only got to go forward, but this was absolutely breathtaking; and I didn’t have a second clue what was going on when we reached the top of the spike. The only real gripe I have is its reliability in two areas: first, how often it is shut down or not operating at the same time as Lex Luthor; and second, the fact that it doesn’t always launch properly in the red zone. However, the height and the feeling of free fall (looking downward at this point must be incredible), the absolutely amazing station (air conditioned!) with ice theming and a creative line system where you choose your row based on group size (resulted in a 3 minute wait for me), plus two different experiences with insane speeds make this one of the best rides in the park.

Fun Too short Disappointing!
It was kind of fun but it was very dissapointing and you don’t feel the rush of top thrill or kingda ka as the acceleration takes so long and it doesn’t feel like a strata coaster (even full throttle feels taller than this) but to be fair I went forwards because backwards wasn’t running when I rode it.

Launch Intensity Smoothness Too short
Honestly, this ride is extremely underrated, that launch is forceful and it’s smooth and it’s intense, just too short.

Launch Pace Fun
Went on the back going up Did not feel 100 mph or 415 feet but quite good I would suggest to do it tho because it is a good ride only real queue I did all day and it was 10-15 minutes

Airtimes Launch Too short
This thing feels more like a drop tower than a roller coaster, in a sense, but it's still a fun ride nonetheless. Even if it's just that one spike, the launch goes on for so long, it feels like you're gonna take off, and you get so much weightlessness that it really is a great ride at the end of the day. Of course, it's hard to compare it to anything with more substantial of a layout though, so it can't get full marks, but it's fun for what it is!

The launch isn’t too forceful, but the speed is cool. It really isn’t anything too crazy - weird to say about a 400 foot tall ride - you just go very fast. Having OTSRs seems like overkill.

Fun Too short
I rode this going backward and had some fun with it. The only problem is that it's wayy too short.

Launch Intensity Too short
This ride literally transformed me into an enthusiast, back in July 1997. It was my first coaster over 100 ft, and that launch prepared me for life. Those commercials were badass. I truly felt faster than a speeding bullet.

Location Launch Too short Capacity
The draw of the ride is the launch, and it packs a punch. The views at 415’ are great, if you were only up there for longer than two short seconds (try Lex Luther Drop of Doom). The 90° drop has just about no airtime and there’s not much to the ride after the 0-120 launch. Slow loader which creates super long lines.

Airtimes Launch Too short
Fun launch, but this ride isn’t worth waiting for if the line is longer than 25-30 min. The airtime at the top of the tower is awesome though!
-
Fun Too short Disappointing!
Looks really cool, but is kind of mediocre of a ride, at least for enthusiasts like myself. Launch and drop are not nearly as powerful as they appear.
-
This ride I wouldn’t really consider to be a roller coaster. However it provides a pretty interesting launch which it can either go fowards or backwards. However, this ride is always down during the middle of the day and has inconsistent launches with most of the time it doesn’t reach the red

Airtimes Launch Fun Too short Harness
I'm not sure how to judge this ride. It's only 20 seconds long with a layout so simple that it feels wrong to praise it for the very sustained airtime, but I can appreciate the technical marvel this thing is and just how unique it is. Despite not being intense, with a very weak launch and no notable forces, it's still an extremely intimidating, deafeningly loud coaster and the drop tower attached to it just adds to the insanity. It has a weak launch, technically speaking, but something about slowly gaining more and more speed over 7 seconds is so compelling that I can kind of appreciate the lack of strong forces. I still can't believe that it exists and is still running after 25 years.

Launch Smoothness Too short Reliability
Superman is an interesting ride to judge. It is just a simple launch and fall. The launch is pretty gradual and is lackluster if you aren’t sitting in the front. The fall from the top of the tower is underwhelming and only gives a good view. MUST SIT IN FRONT! The Front gives the best ride and the wind gives the ride much more intensity. It is too short to be a good coaster and you are basically limited to the front for the a good ride.

Launch Smoothness Too short
A one-trick pony for sure, but that launch is fuckin' great. This ride is over far too soon and I definitely would not wait more than 25 minutes for it due to its length (which I unfortunately did on this visit) but it's worth it at least once.

Theming Launch Smoothness Too short
Superman deserves the tallest and fastest to be named after him. While this is taller and faster than most other rides in the world, it could be better. I’ve only ever been launched backwards, maybe I’d enjoy it more if I was facing forward.

Launch Layout
- [x] Superman escape from croutons back row. I know in the past it’s launch wasn’t sending people very high but this thing was screaming. Well into the red section as it should be. Was surprised by the launch but loved it. Very fun and thrilling. A bit dated now and most other strata coasters are better but going backwards is very fun! 4/5

Launch Pace Intensity Too short
Enjoyed this with my 9 year old daughter, her first ride on a 100mph coaster. Not quite as good as Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka, but is it really that far behind them? It’s an intense and fast good time. When you’re next in line, and the doors are closed, you can’t even hear the coaster. It is one of the loudest coasters on the planet. Out in the park, when you’re out and about, you can hear it from just about everywhere, and if you get too close to it, cover your ears. That waiting station must be damn near soundproof!

Launch Fun
Even if it isn’t the most forceful ride in the world going 100 mph and 400 feet above the ground is fun. Not an intense launch or anything but still good fun.
-
It's not intense at all but it is fun. Its got nothing on rides like Top Thrill Dragster though.
-
Launch Harness Disappointing!
Superman has some flaws, but it is overall a decent ride. It is unique in that you are launched backwards out of the station, and while the launch is not the most forceful, it is still quite fun as you can't see where you are going and you are accelerating for a long time. You get some weightlessness as you go up the tower, but the bulky restraints admittedly take away from that feeling. My biggest issue with this ride is that it only goes 2/3 up the tower, and even then the launch section is well above ground level. Nowadays you're lucky if the whole cart reaches the red section of the tower, which is only about 250 ft above the launch elevation. Though this ride is historic, I wouldn't mind seeing it removed and having the tower repurposed for a new and improved strata coaster.

Theming Too short Layout Reliability
Superman: Escape From Krypton was a very generic ride. In a park with loads of stand out coasters, it failed to stand out. The launch was unimpressive. The drop was fun, but not special. The wind on the return trip is really unpleasant, and the layout fails to make that wind worth it. It's fun for sure, but not particularly great.

Smoothness Capacity Pointless Dead spots
While on paper this ride may impress, the actual ride experience leaves much to be desired. The launch isn't forceful at all, and the straight sections are way too long. These combine to form just a really bland shuttle coaster, of which its only really redeeming quality is that the ride launches backwards. There's just not enough going on here to make it worth it.
-
Smoothness Launch Pointless Dead spots
The ride is extremely boring, it completely fails at everything, I felt no force at all, extremely disappointing and it is a waste of space. The only positive I can say is that it is smooth.
