Airtimes First Drop Intensity Harness Discomfort

SkyRush is extremely intense. It is a nonstop intensity machine filled with ejector airtime and powerful turns. This is an extremely strong layout. The restraints are stupid and uncomfortable, but the amazing ride far overpowers the stupid restraints.

    Intensity Rattle Capacity Discomfort

Sidewinder is not good. It’s rattly. It’s short. It’s uncomfortable. The one thing it’s got going for it is it’s somewhat intense. Beyond that, it does very little well.

Airtimes Nice surprise! Intensity Dead spots

Lightning Racer really surprised me. This ride was running smooth and fast on my visit. The dueling turnaround moments were sometimes a bit slow, but otherwise it ran fast, it had great airtime, and it was just a fantastic woodie. Both sides were roughly the same too. Great ride!

    Theming Fun Intensity

Laff Trakk is a fairly tame spinning coaster. It spins well but not forcefully. That’s easy to overlook though with its wildly whimsical theming that makes the ride interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed Laff Trakk.

Inversions Intensity Smoothness Too short Dead spots

Great Bear does a lot really well. It’s in a beautiful location and it has an incredibly strong set of inversions. That first drop turnaround thing is really fun as well. It does have a lot of dead space between the final inversion and the brake run, but that’s a minor nitpick on an otherwise great coaster.

    Inversions Pace Capacity

Fahrenheit is a solid inversion-focused coaster. Runs well, and stays at a strong pace. Surprising airtime too. There are better inversion focused coasters but Fahrenheit is still a strong ride in its own right.

    Airtimes Fun Rattle

Comet is a great classic woodie. Its age shows. It’s not smooth at all. But it’s a lovable classic woodie kind of rough. Delivers some solid airtime. Great fit in the lineup at Hersheypark.

    Airtimes Comfort Smoothness

Candymonium is a fantastic hyper coaster. It delivers great floater airtime. It’s in a beautiful location. Runs super smooth. Everything you could ask for from a B&M Hyper.

  • Nathan F

    Fun Discomfort

It’s a kiddy coaster. It is what it is. That aside, it went around 6 cycles and has some fun lats and a little tinge of floater air, which is just a smidge more than I can ask for from a kiddy coaster.

    Smoothness Capacity Discomfort

Really fun ride in a beautiful location. Ran real well. It’s a great piece of history if you’re a Busch Gardens fan since it used to operate there. But it has one small cramped train and it’s got some jank to it as is typical of coaster of its age. All in all though fun ride.

    Fun Theming

Primeval Whirl was a terrible fit at Animal Kingdom. Its theming, while good compared to any other Wild Mouse, was appallingly bad in the fantastic park of Animal Kingdom. It was fun. It was smooth, but it was absolutely terrible in the context of Animal Kingdom.

    Airtimes Ejectors

Silver Comet was the only major coaster at this park. It produced surprisingly strong ejector airtime. The headchoppers were fantastic. Silver Comet was a little on the short end, but overall, it was a very well done coaster.

    Inversions Layout Rattle Theming

Scream had a clear B&M rattle, but that didn't detract too much from an awesome floorless coaster. The low-to-the-ground turnaround is awesome, and the inversions are all spectacular. It's a great ride, but I will admit it is in an absolutely ugly location.

    Airtimes Smoothness Ejectors Dead spots

Twisted Colossus is amazing. It delivers a butt-kick first drop, and every element thereafter is quite enjoyable. Amazing airtime. They were doing pretty good about dueling the day I went, but my train unfortunately did not duel.

  • Nathan F

    First Drop Intensity Layout Discomfort

X2 is extremely aggressive. The inversions are aggressive. The train's spin is aggressive. The first drop is aggressive. It is an absolute beast. The spin is a little clunky and uncomfortable, but it's easy to overlook that because everything about this ride is absolutely outstanding!

    Theming Smoothness Duration Capacity Harness

West Coast Racers is very fun and very long. Both sides could function as their own coaster. The pit stop is better than nothing, but unimpressive. This ride is not mind-blowing, but it is good. Comfort collars though, which don’t detract here like they do on other rides.

    Smoothness

Speedy Gonzales is a generic Family Gravity coaster. No jank to it, which I think is a good thing.

  • Nathan F

    Intensity Rattle Dead spots

Wild One is very old, and you can definitely feel it throughout the ride. It's not such an intense rattle that it ruins the ride, but it's closer to that line than I'd like. However, the ride pulls crazy lateral forces and is fun the whole way through. The drops are amazingly done, and the way it interacts with the old water coaster is fun as well.

  • Nathan F

    Launch Hangtime Too short Capacity

Full Throttle is short, and that's easily the biggest knock on this. The loop delivers incredible hangtime. The launches are great. A night ride on this is amazing. You get a great upside down view of the Santa Clarita skyline.

  • Nathan F

    Inversions Intensity Duration Discomfort

Riddler's Revenge is an absolutely outstanding stand-up coaster. It lacks any headbanging. It's super long. All the inversions are fun. I found the restraints pressed down hard on my shoulders, but that was a pretty minor inconvenience for an incredible coaster.

  • Nathan F

Inversions Nice surprise! Hangtime Dead spots

Viper is a fantastic coaster. Every single inversion is amazing. I had no headbanging whatsoever. I found it, while not perfectly smooth, to be running far smoother than most other Arrow coasters I've ridden. Viper was the surprise standout of my trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Absolutely criminally underrated ride.

  • Nathan F

    Inversions Masterpiece Intensity

Tatsu is an extraordinary coaster. The ride is intense from start to finish. Every inversion is spectacular. You really get the flying sensation. And then the pretzel loop. Wow! That pretzel loop takes an already intense ride and kicks it up a million notches. Fantastic ride. The one downside is that it is painfully obvious where people have vomited on the brake run over the years, as those sections are visibly more corroded than the rest of the metal platform.

  • Nathan F

    Theming Too short Layout Reliability

Superman: Escape From Krypton was a very generic ride. In a park with loads of stand out coasters, it failed to stand out. The launch was unimpressive. The drop was fun, but not special. The wind on the return trip is really unpleasant, and the layout fails to make that wind worth it. It's fun for sure, but not particularly great.

  • Nathan F

    Location Fun Capacity

Ninja was a very fun ride without doing any one thing great. It's not super intense, but it doesn't lack intensity. It's not buttery smooth, but it's not rough. It was running one train, and has a pretty good ride time, which unfortunately led to incredibly poor capacity.

  • Nathan F

    Inversions Location Discomfort Dead spots

New Revolution is a classic Schwarzkopf looper. It has some pacing issues. It speeds up and slows down constantly. It's not the smoothest ride ever, transitions-wise. However, it absolutely nails the vertical loop. It slows way down as you face the loop, then goes down very gradually towards the loop to slow the buildup of speed necessary to traverse the loop. Builds a lot of suspense for what was at the time an incredibly unique element.

  • Nathan F

    Intensity Smoothness Dead spots

I thought Goliath was fine. Not the worst hyper I've ever ridden, but not the best. The helices pull some amaing forces, but that requires the mid-course brake run to kick in pretty good. It wasn't kicking as hard as I've seen in some videos when I went though.

  • Nathan F

    Location Fun Dead spots

It's not a particularly large ride, but the first drop and helix were pretty fun. It's in a great location though, and it's just fun.

    Intensity

Pretty wild kiddy coaster at the end there, but a kiddy coaster nonetheless.
