    Airtimes Intensity Layout

This ride is nonstop, delivering great positive g's in the valleys of the coaster, throwing in great airtime moments, snaps, and a gray out helix. Even the sections that are not as forceful will deliver a fun time.

    Airtimes Fun Intensity Capacity Discomfort

This ride is just so exhilarating, going non-stop while offering an extremely long duration! Now, I will just get the only cons out of the way really quick, one is the mediocre capacity. This ride, while not being operated as terribly in former years, does not still operate to it's full potential. Now, you will be waiting less compared to years past, but when most of the rides at the park are short waits, this one's wait is kind-of hard to buckle down on and sit through. The capacity is probably the main reason why I don't ride this more. Additionally, this ride is undeniably getting rougher, the first half is still smooth, as expected, but the second half has several successive jackhammer moments up until that final helix. I don't think this jackhammer detracts from the ride, yet. If Knott's does not solve this problem I think we might see a decline in popularity of this coaster again, which will at least shorten the wait :). The ride begins with a short, but fun pre-lift section offering nice laterals before the lift-hill. You go down a drop giving decently strong floater airtime in the back and then go into a positive-g-filled valley, it's not as intense as rides like HangTime, but it is a good moment. You then fly into a huge airtime hill, giving exceptional floater airtime across it. The first turnaround will give nice laterals going through it before the next drop, giving good floater. The next high underbanked-turn gives a great rush of laterals as well as a quick snap coming out of it. You then rise up into the second turnaround above the station, which will give good laterals before the midcoursebrakerun. Now, for the fun part of the ride, the ride goes down it's famous drop, which while I think gives 'flojector' at best, is still one of the best moments on the ride. The ride then zooms through 2 quick floater hops before the 3rd turnaround, which gives nice laterals as well, you then go into an off-axis airtime pop which gives great sideways floater which is my personal favorite part of the ride, you then pop into this bunny hill which gives great floater airtime, while also jackhammering you (I'll go more into this later), after that, you go into a decent hill into the final helix which is just astonishing, you get strong laterals consistantly throughout this element, even throws in a pop of weak floater, after this element, you go up one quick floater bunny hop, and you rush into the brakes, ending your ride. I think this ride offers a consistant and wide range of g-forces throughout the entire ride. Overall, I say this ride is 'very good', it's not great because it isn't consistant and the roughness has really jacked up, but for what it offers, it definitely deserves the rating it has.

Airtimes Intensity Hangtime Rattle Discomfort Lap Bar

My recent rides on Hangtime have been very good. The pros out-way the cons for sure and even then, the cons are so small that they didn't affect my ranking that much, but I thought I'd may as well give them a mention. The lap bars definitely caused the most pain for me. These lap bars tighten so hard that the double down airtime moment was totally ruined for me. There isn't really a rattle but that was the closest thing I could find to shakiness. On the corkscrew, the ride just kind of grinds on you but after that the ride is smooth again. Now the first drop is outstanding, I don't really enjoy the "hang" as much as I used too, but I wouldn't say it ruined the drop. The positives g's in these valleys were really good surprisingly, the negative-g-stall loop also pulled a really quick pop of hangtime which I didn't expect. The rest of the ride was basically as forceless as I could remember but it was very fun going through all the inversions, especially the cobra roll. However, going into the brake run was my favorite part of the ride, you get this nice pop of floater which is really satisfying and isn't as painful as being yanked into your bulky lap bar during the double down. Definitely check out this ride if you visit Knott's and be sure to ride near the front, those were my best rides.

    Inversions Headbanging

This ride is very strange for sure. The ride is basically a tour of the hotel.. for 20 bucks. In all seriousness though, the ride was ridiculously rough, but honestly, I didn't mind it. The new trains probably caused a major improvement. Most of the ride however is just slow rises above the hotel. There is one thing keeping me from ranking it lower, literally one of the best inversions ever, the dive loop. The quick snap to 180 degrees and then the tight pullout is just so intense and whippy. I wouldn't say it's worth the money but I also wouldn't say avoid it.

  • Zach N.

    Smoothness Theming

This ride is mediocre to the core. The ride is smooth and the second half has decent positives, however the theming makes no sense and I genuinely find it tacky to experience. If they retheme this to make it better than I will put it higher.

  • Zach N.

    Pace Disappointing! Layout

This ride was very disappointing for me. The vest restraints were ridiculously tight on my torso. The first drop is okay, I didn't really get that much airtime, it was just floater. The ride then goes through these random forceless inversions. The only decent part of the ride was the zero-g-roll type element which rises up, inverts, and then snaps to the right. You get weak floater but the transition out of this inversion is pretty intense. The final corkscrew is also relatively shakey, it's not strong but it's noticable. Emperor wasn't what I was expecting for a new for 2022 B&M.

    Launch Capacity Harness Disappointing!

This ride was just so overhyped. The capacity on this thing is AWFUL, I waited what should've been a station wait but it turned into 10 minutes, that's outrageous. I also got one very forceless ride. No element was as good as people had said. There was a decently intense backwards launch but I was just so upset with the capacity, pacing, and disappointment that I decided not to get back in line. Oh, and for good reason, it was constantly over 60 minutes for the remaining duration of my day at Seaworld.

  • Zach N.

    Comfort Fun Intensity

Tatsu is a great ride. This is one of the most underrated coasters I have ever been on. The ride has extremely comfortable seats and restraints, and the ride overall is just fun. The ride does have an insane element; the pretzel loop. This pulls crazy g's for 4.5 seconds and is the most intense element I have ever been on riding a coaster. People need to show this coaster more love.

  • Zach N.

    Airtimes Fun Layout Discomfort

Twisted Colossus is a great ride. However, people overrate this thing a LOT. The ride has great airtime everywhere and every element pops but some elements like the green side high-five can be awkward and frankly uncomfortable. The ride also doesn't duel as much as designed to, proving to make a relatively less interesting ride experience than if it did duel more. This ride is definitely overrated, but it's still fun and one of the top coasters at Magic Mountain.

  • Zach N.

Airtimes First Drop Nice surprise! Discomfort

Apocalypse is probably the most overshadowed coaster at Magic Mountain. It doesn't get much attention in any direction. It's not hated on like Goliath, and it's not gushed over like X2 or Twisted Colossus. But this ride is fantastic, the ride has great airdrop, a fabulous first drop, and was just such a surprise to me with how good it was. The only complaint I have is with the discomfort, this ride is rough, and it does jackhammer quite a bit, but it really isn't bad enough to avoid the ride. If this ride got a retrack like Ghostrider did in 2016, I think people would see this ride for what it is and Apocalypse would see longer wait times.

  • Zach N.

First Drop Fun Intensity Dead spots

Goliath is a great ride. This is genuinely so over-hated that it actually upsets me. First off, get your OWN opinion y'all. The ride begins with a first drop of malice that lasts forever, while there isn't much airtime, the duration of the drop is what makes it good. The pullout of the drop (And frankly every pullout of this ride) is very intense. The turnaround offers good laterals in all rows. The floater hill gives weak floater airtime for a consistent amount. While I do agree the hill is weak, it's better than Twisted Colossus' speed hills which people claim to "love". The midcourse is the only part of the ride that deserves hate. This kills any pacing and excitement during the ride, and heavily weakens the second half of the ride. The second half has some turns with decent positives, and then the crazy helix; this crushes your bones into it while also lasting forever, afterwards, the ride has a couple more turns into the brakes. If you hate this ride, please stop lying to yourself and get your OWN opinion. (Cuz is it really THAT fun to copy others?)

    Nice surprise! Launch Fun Capacity

Superman is a very good ride. It starts with a launch out of the station, although it isn't very forceful, you get yanked into your restraint if you're going backwards, the spike is insane, seeing the ground below you is absurd and I had so much fun. This is probably my 'favorite' ride at the park. The ride has pretty mediocre capacity though making wait times long, so do this if it opens late in the morning, after a breakdown, or at rope drop. The experience of Superman: Escape from Krypton is one I didn't use to love, but now that I do, I think riders should give this coaster a second chance.

  • Zach N.

    Airtimes Fun Hangtime

Full Throttle is a good ride. There's not much wrong with it besides the brakes on the drop. You get good hangtime, good airdrop on that unfortunately braked drop, and you have a lot of fun. Good combo for a good coaster.

  • Zach N.

First Drop Fun Disappointing! Discomfort Dead spots

X2 is good. Although I was expecting an insane ride that would literally annihilate me, and got a tame ride with fun flips I still think the flipping and imposing looks alone make this one of the most intriguing coasters in the world.

  • Zach N.

    Launch Fun

This coaster is awesome, the launch is exceptional and it's kind of upsetting to me that it's not being preserved, the first loop was pretty intense and the first spike was the only "dull" part of the ride to me. After going through the same intense loop again you speed down the launch and go full speed into that back spike. Even though nothing is happening during this straight segment, the speed and pacing of the ride at that point just makes it so fun. Then you speed all the way up that back spike, this is my favorite part of the ride, I love just taking in the view and waving to people on the ground. I'm very sad that this coaster isn't being preserved better, but hopefully the 2023 MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress is as good or even better than this version.

  • Zach N.

    Fun Intensity Smoothness

Batman is good. There is really nothing bad with this ride. The elements are all quite intense and the ride is very fun and smooth.

  • Zach N.

Fun Intensity Hangtime Discomfort Dead spots

Viper is good. This ride is quite fun with great intensity in it's first half, with great hangtime in it's second half. However, there are a couple dead spots on the ride and the first half can be really uncomfortable. Regardless of the cons, this ride is a classic, and I wish so many people wouldn't avoid it.

  • Zach N.

    Inversions Fun Dead spots

Revolution is good. The ride is pretty fun and the vertical loop has good intensity. There are dead spots and the ride is pretty boring overall, but when I had considered the history of this ride, I had to rank it higher.

  • Zach N.

    Pace Fun Hangtime Harness Pointless

West Coast Racers is decent. There's honestly no real problem with this ride (Besides comfort collars). The only thing is that the ride is literally just everything the park already had, specifically Twisted Colossus and Full Throttle. Making this ride obsolete and basically pointless. I did like this ride, but I don't see why I should wait in line for this when I can do the same thing for Twisted Colossus or Full Throttle for a better experience.

  • Zach N.

    Theming Smoothness Discomfort

Riddler's Revenge is decent. The ride looks quite imposing at the back of the park, serving a huge centerpiece for all to see. The ride has pretty decent theming for a Six Flags park, featuring decorative buildings and a nice station. The ride is quite smooth, however the ride is so uncomfortable around my feet. After the midcourse, the pain died down and I could enjoy the rest of the ride with no discomfort and it was fine, I even somewhat liked it. But that first half was not a fun experience for me.

  • Zach N.

    Location Layout Discomfort Dead spots

Gold Rusher is decent. The ride has a great location on the hillside, giving what feels like a tour of the massive thrill coasters which sit next to it. I honestly find the layout quite fun, it even has a couple of intense moments of laterals. However, this ride's middle section has a large dead spot until the finale, while also being mildly uncomfortable. I enjoy this ride, and it's a good piece of Magic Mountain history I think you should hop onto.

  • Zach N.

    Location Pace Discomfort Layout

Ninja is okay. The ride has an excellent location right on the midway of Samurai Summit, it has a nice hill to go down throughout the layout. The layout itself has great pacing, keeping speed up until the brakes. However, the layout is also quite boring. There's not much swinging or anything of interest. The only good part of the layout is when it makes a high swing over Jet Stream's lake, giving decent positives. While also being boring, the ride is quite uncomfortable, having a bad transition at every turn. Ninja is a mellow ride if you are riding with family, which seems to be it's purpose.

  • Zach N.

    Inversions Rattle Pointless Layout

Scream is mediocre. The ride has a nice presentation but features such a terrible location, it's at a dead end of the park which makes wanting to even ride it pretty difficult. The ride begins with a small turn out of the station (The station which, has great music). The first drop is really shaky and unpleasant, the first inversion follows the same pattern but with little to no forces at all. The rest of the ride layout follows this same dynamic of the first 2 elements, excluding one zero-g-roll. The roll is quite nice, but it's the only good element on the ride. This leads into my next point; this ride is obsolete in it's own park, Batman (The inverted coaster) is a 5 minute walk from Scream while also being much closer to it's fellow attractions. Batman features better forces than Scream in every way and is much smoother. This results in Scream being completely pointless. Scream is mediocre, but deserves to be in a park where it won't be overlooked.

  • Zach N.

    Location Launch Fun Airtimes

Xcelerator is an amazing ride. However, if there was one minor con, I would have to say the ride didn't give that euphoric airtime off the top hat like I remember. To begin your experience you go through the ride queue, which is just fantastic, waiting in the middle of the ride watching train after train fly through the layout really makes your time in line go by quick. The ride begins with an amazing launch, which is easily the best part of the ride, I forgot just how intense this launch was until I got my first ride after over 1.5 years. You go into a decently intense positive-g-filled pullup into the top hat, the top hat which, will give a good pop of floater in the front rows. The drop off the top hat is pretty scenic and nice too. After the top hat, you go into two overbanked turns at fast speeds and hit those intense brakes. I absolutely love every part of Xcelerator, it may be a prototype, but it is a REALLY good one. I cannot wait to get back on this ride for even more rides sometime in the future.

  • Zach N.

    Fun Layout

Pony Express is usually criticized for being a short, forceless launch coaster. I always thought the contrary but my latest rides on this coaster have boosted my opinion of this ride further. First off, it's very fun with family, everyone can ride it. The first launch is pretty good and while that first turn after it is kind of slow, it gives a great lateral moment in the front before a pretty nice drop and then you rise above the station and swing by the queue and then go above paths and now the rides cranks it up a notch. You snap quickly snap to the right and then you snap into the left, going into a tunnel, I don't really know how to describe it but it's an interesting feeling. Then you quickly go into the brakes. If you have time at Knott's, you should definitely ride it.

  • Zach N.

    Fun Intensity Layout Discomfort

This ride is awesome! If you ride facing backwards the lift is already exciting as you're fighting to stay upright. You go through a great twister layout, with great laterals, positives, and snaps. That helix is also insane, seeing as how it is a gray out moment on a family coaster! The spinning adds to awesome layout. The only issue I have is the roughness, there are definitely parts of the ride where it is shaky, but it's not detracting from the ride experience. If you have time at Knott's do this ride, it is so worth your time!

  • Zach N.

    First Drop Discomfort Intensity Reliability

The ride has a decent first drop, the rest of the ride is uncomfortable because of the lap-bar, it's forceless, and it has awful reliability, it broke down very often during my visit at Knott's. Overall pretty sucky ride.

  • Zach N.

    Location Capacity

This ride is fun, honestly. This ride isn't much unless you ride it with friends who don't want to get on bigger coasters. I was in that circumstance, and I had a blast! I also love how janky this thing is, it just adds to the character. However, if you have friends who want to go on rides like Supreme Scream, Ghostrider, and Hangtime, don't spend your time waiting for this thing. Now for the biggest problem about this coaster, the trash capacity. The operators at Jaguar are contenders for the WORST operators at Knott's. I do believe a big problem about the operations are the sneaky children who try to ride below the height minimum but still, the restraint checks are so slow. If you're going to ride alone, at least do it in the morning when wait times are short, but this thing will get a massive wait time fast after the first hour of park open.

  • Zach N.

First Drop Nice surprise! Pace Discomfort

This is very smooth ride considering who made it. I've been on other Arrows that are just nasty to my head, but this was pretty smooth, there is the Arrow jank but considering the pacing and size of these elements, it's miraculous that this ride is so smooth. The first drop is outstanding, the back row gives you great floater airtime in the back rows. The rest of the ride wasn't as intense as I thought, the corkscrews were really fun going through however. The final helix is also really insane and fast, it's a great way to end the ride.

  • Zach N.

First Drop Layout Hangtime Discomfort Lap Bar

This ride is good. But there are some pretty big cons on this ride. The lap bars suck, they come down on you so easily that at that dip before the lifthill, you just get totally stapled. This doesn't ruin the ride as the drop is still very good. But just something annoying that I thought I'd point out. The layout on this thing is amazing though. The turns and banking are really fun and add a lot of character to this ride. My only other con is that on the first hangtime dive loop, it jerks to the left a bit, it's pretty noticeable for me and it's why I don't put this higher than Canyonblaster.
