Theming Pace Intensity Dead spots
This is a great ride and is very slept on. One of my favorites at Magic Mountain. It's a very disorienting ride with great laterals and some decent airtime. I will admit that it does have a few moments that don't really do anything, but beyond that, it's very fun.

Pace Layout Rattle
Great layout. Unfortunately despite all the work that's been done on this ride it is rough as shit. Completely unpleasant and hardly bearable.
-
Theming Intensity Rattle
It was so rough, the theming was great and it was intense, but I can’t get past the nasty rattle.
-
Pace Rattle Discomfort Reliability
I waited 90 minutes to get my elbow bleeding when I had my hands up plus that was running one train and it did not have to be ninety minutes the operations were horrid not my worst though
-
Airtimes Pace
Apocalypse wasn't very rough when I rode, so I just had a blast! It's got this quick pacing and airtime pops that make the ride so fun. If this is one of the lower tier GCIs, I can only imagine what the top tiers feel like!

Fun Rattle
Fun ride, but I've noticed that it has been getting rougher each time I ride it
-
Theming Pace Intensity Rattle Discomfort
This ride is substantially rougher in 2023 than it was in 2020 when I first rode it. This ride still has excellent pacing/intensity. This is a good ride. Unfortunately, the re-track has not held up well and it can be quite uncomfortable as a result.

Airtimes Pace Fun Rattle
After 2 rides in december, I can confidently place this as my #5, I hade a normal day ride in the back that had good airtime and laterals, however my second, night ride was ridiculous, it was hauling through its layout so fast it made the Millennium Flyer train jackhammer, it had excellent forces and pacing on that ride, which shot it up in my rankings a lot.

Theming Pace Intensity Dead spots
One of the best woodies that I’ve done. This is my first modern GCI, so I guess that’s why I love it so much. It’s just so disorienting. So much rapid airtime moments, rapid turns and it’s so well paced. It certainly has a shake, but that adds to the craziness if anything. The ending does lose a bit of steam, but it’s still a great ride. Also, that queue theming is really surprising.

Pace Fun Layout Too short
This was my second GCI, and after the miserable Thunderhead experience I had summer of 19, I had high hopes for this to make up for it. It did not disappoint. It was a little bumpy in some elements but not notably, and ran much, much smoother than most woodies I've been on that aren't RMC toppers. I think I have a fairly high tolerance for roughness, but even the person I came with who hasn't had a ton of experience with coasters thought it was pretty smooth. Offers a very fast paced ride, almost no straight lines and lots of fun elements. Bonus points for theming, the queue looked pretty good (for a Six Flags park).

Theming Pace Fun Rattle
I caught this in its Terminator days one July of 2009. I admit, I was pretty impressed with its theming. The actual ride was a lot of fun; it didn't have much rattle as it does now, but I've noticed it on re-rides in subsequent years. Not in the top 40, but whatever.

Airtimes Comfort Intensity Rattle
It is a extremely intense ride with airtime and very smooth for a woodie but still has some rattle and it was very comfortable for me and it has really good theming especially in the queue line and it has good pace

Pace Intensity Rattle Discomfort
This is one of the faster woodies I’ve ever ridden, and the speed run through the station is a nice touch. It’s fast and fun, which makes for a good ride experience. The absolute worst part about this ride is the rattle and discomfort. Honestly, without those things this coaster would be considerably higher on my list. It’s painful to ride, sometimes worse than the Matterhorn at Disneyland. The speed coupled with the discomfort makes it worse, hitting harder on the turns than some other uncomfortable coasters. It’s still enjoyable if you can get past the jerkiness, but it needs some TLC.

Fun Layout Rattle
This woodie has fallen off considerably over the years. I remember marathoning Apocalypse in the early 2010’s, as it was butter smooth with great pacing and airtime. However, over the last couple of years the roughness has been nearly unbearable. Occasionally I’ll get a smooth ride with solid airtime, but these days it isn’t worth a ride if the line is longer than 15-20mins.

Theming Pace Rattle Layout
I thought it was alright. Solid wooden coaster. Didn’t give too much airtime and the drops seemed a little lack luster. The speed and pace was great. Recommend the back row for most intensity. Last half of the layout seemed to be tame and not much positives to it. My friends loved it though, but I thought it was alright.

Comfort Intensity Ejectors Rattle Too short
With six flags magic mountain being my home amusement park, I’m use to riding this ride multiple times throughout the month. One thing I’ve learned over time is that while it provides great ejector and laterals, I can find the ride to be lacklustering being so short and having the constant rattle, especially at the turns. However, I still love this rides pacing and how comfortable the seats are.

Theming Duration Rattle
Generally fun but unremarkable, but easily the best theming of any coaster at Magic Mountain. The queue is much more enjoyable than most here - even the brand new West Coast Racers. Other than that there's some fun moments but nothing to write home about. 03-22-22 re-ride: Okay, just rode this again with a full train on a hot day and it was HAULING ass. Literally felt like we were going faster than Escape from Krypton (though I know that wasn't happening). I definitely have a newfound love for this coaster now that I've ridden it at it's peak performance. Put some lights in the effin' queue though.

Intensity Dead spots
Apocalypse has decent pace to it and just the right level of rattle for a wooden. Overall, it’s kind of lacking in the airtime/ejector department. Middle of the road. Not bad. Not great.
-
Layout Disappointing! Dead spots
Has everything there for a great woodie but it just does not bring anything fun to the table. Thunderhead and other gcis shit on this ride
-
Airtimes Theming Intensity
Good mid-tier GCI. Great lats and pacing with fantastic airtime in between. Very smooth with the retracking and compact. Good theming in the queue as well. Nice surprise
-
Haven't ridden it since 2014 but I remember loving it and with its recent retrack I'm sure it's only gotten better.
-
Theming Smoothness Layout
The ride is one of the few ones from magic mountain with a decent theming, escpecially in the queue line. The coaster is pretty alright with a nice layout and not too rough for a wooden coaster.
-
First Drop Lap Bar Fun Rattle
Apocalypse is a very fun wooden coaster, the only one at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The queue has a nice theme, even though I don't understand why they themed a wooden with this, but whatever. The coaster is a bit shaky and would probably improves with a little less shakiness, but it's overall a very good ride.
-
Airtimes Theming Pace Rattle Harness Dead spots
It's smoother after the retracking besides the slight jackhammering before the tunnel. Overall, this is a really fun ride with some nice pacing in the first half. The GCI restraints are pretty uncomfortable, but if you're able to get some room you will get some airtime.

Airtimes Comfort Pace Rattle
I always seem to ride this when it needs re-tracking the most. I have never made it on Apocalypse after it has gotten a recent re-tracking, so that may be affecting my view on it. However, either way I still enjoy this ride. The layout is very fun and the pace is amazing as the train is always flying through each part of the layout. There are several small moments of airtime which are always welcome. I also love the seats as they are very cushioned, easing the rattle of this coaster. I have never been one to complain about wooden coasters rattling (That's what their supposed to do people! If you want something smooth go ride a steel coaster!), but when I rode this last it was a bit out of hand. I am looking forward to re-riding it after its most recent re-tracking, and I see it going up in my rankings possibly then.
-
Pace Fun
A neat GCI woodie that's tucked in the back corner of the park. The ride was probably smoother back when it opened, but I wouldn't call it particularly rough amongst all the other woodies I've ridden. Ride this one at night; it becomes a lot more fun when the indoor sections become near-blackout in the absence of the sun.
-
Pace Fun Layout Rattle
A little too rough, but the interaction with itself and it's tunnels means that this ride gives great headchoppers and amazing night rides.
