Airtimes Inversions Fun
IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. I loved every second! The inversions and loops are perfect. The drop is the right amount of thrill, it’s amazing! I was really scared about the drop tho so I sat in the third seat to the back. It was still incredible TRY IT NOW.

Airtimes Duration Discomfort Pointless Dead spots
Twisted Colossus is a great ride, but unfortunately with the additions of West Coast Racers and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage it now serves no purpose in Magic Mountain's lineup. The now have two other coasters that do exactly what this ride does but better. I also think that this ride didn't live up to the expectations I had, especially because I have never dueled on Twisted Colossus in my life. If you think about it, that's just kind of sad because it's a ride that's meant to duel. I also don't like the gimmick of "two rides in one" because the two laps are very similar and pointless if you don't duel. It also just causes me discomfort and motion sickness. I also absolutely hate the 2nd lift hill, it ruins all the excitement you get from the first lap. Even though I've been talking negatively about the ride, I can still acknowledge that it's a great coaster and has plenty of great moments. The drops on both sides are really good, the step up into the turnaround gives good airtime, the stall is fun, the zero-g roll is whippy, the camelback is strong. On paper this is a great ride and it is a great ride. I just wish it had been executed better so that it would get pushed to that next level of quality that it was supposed to be in.

Ejectors Hangtime Duration Dead spots
This ride is amazing. It has good length, amazing airtime. The top gun stall provides amazing hangtime. I was also able to ride this twice, one with a duel and one without. The duel really does add a lot. The only real downside is going up the second lift, which really suddenly stops the action. But I would rather have that than only one half of this beautiful coaster.

great! I personally like X2 more, but I can easily understand why people love this coaster so much

Masterpiece Ejectors Duration
My favorite roller coaster of all time was a 2007 ride of Maverick at Cedar Point. It took almost 16 years later but this coaster has officially dethroned my top spot. I waited over two hours for this ride and if I could go back in time I would wait all over again. I was fortunate enough to ride in the second to last row so both "first" drops were so much more intense and incredible for how short these drops are compared to the rest of the large coaster lineup. After the drop, you're just ejected from your seat throughout the course of both runs with sharp drops happening constantly. I couldn't believe how often I felt weightless on this ride. The duration of this ride is also incredible. I would have given this one a very high rating if it was only one side but you get two back-to-back runs basically. I'm comfortable tagging this one as a masterpiece and also giving it a rare perfect score. 5/5 stars

Airtimes Masterpiece Ejectors
This ride has the most airtime of any coaster I’ve ever done! It’s like you don’t properly sit down for all of the ride! It may break your thighs, but it doesn’t matter because you are going to be having too much fun flying out of your seat! 10/10 ride!
-
Airtimes Duration
First hybrid RMC and it did not disappoint! Lapped this in the front and then back row. Both of us agreed the back was superior for both forces and also seeing the rest of the train moving in front of you. Only unfortunate aspect was that we didn't get even a half-duel.

Airtimes Inversions Duration
Twisted Colossus is my #2, only behind SteVe, it is easily the best coaster in California. I got 3 rides, and one night ride was absolutely insane, pushing it above Millennium Force for my #2, it has great airtime and intensity, as well as laterals and whip. the inversions are amazing. Overall, Twisted Colossus is a glossy smooth, whippy airtime machine.
-
Airtimes Smoothness Layout Too short
In all honesty this is a really great ride, however the ride feels kind of pointless because it rarely ever duels, which takes away from the experience and makes the ride feel a lot shorter than it actually is. For some reason the second half of the ride stapled me and I didn't get as much airtime as the first half, I would move this higher on my list if I get a duel.
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness Disappointing!
I’m only deeming this disappointing because of the dueling. It was a great idea, and I love going around twice, but it just never duels. I haven’t gotten even a half duel on this ride, so I guess I haven’t fully experienced this ride. I mean, it’s still an amazing ride beyond that. The airtime in the first half is amazing, and I love experiencing that insane first drop twice without getting out of my seat. And also, not even just airtime, but this ride has amazing laterals, most notably on the green double down that gives ejector while slamming you into both sides of your seat. The inversions are also great. I just think that this ride should just try to duel at least almost every time to make park guests satisfied.
-
Airtimes First Drop Fun Layout
Overall, a fantastic must ride. The first drop is the best on any wooden coaster I’ve ridden, and it’s perfectly smooth throughout. Zero G rolls are great and the lap bar helps with the intensity. Only problem is the racing aspect; I think they should have two different stations or a leaderboard systems for more competitiveness. Also, most of the layout besides the eye-catching spots were a bit middling, but overall some key elements make it incredible.

Fun Masterpiece Ejectors
I wasn't expecting RMC to be the breakout star of the '10s. Sure, I heard numerous good things about New Texas Giant and Iron Rattler, but this thing right here made me believe in RMC. The dueling aspect provides a fun, competitive angle to the ride, and the ejectors are great. My #1.
-
Airtimes Fun Capacity
second to back row left seat. My second RMC ever but lightning rod is my other credit. This had fun elements but it didn’t seem to be moving very fast. Was shocked that this wasn’t my favorite coaster here but I think I wouldn’t want to wait more than 45 minutes for this ride. Still enjoyable and I love the dueling aspects but It didn’t do too much for me sadly. 4/5 it’s still a fun RMC lol I think ride ops was bumming me out or the coaster wasn’t as fast when I went on it. Kinda let down
-
First Drop Layout Ejectors Capacity
Great ride, caught me off guard since I haven’t ridden since the OG colossus. Amazing layout amazing attraction, but most lifeless and slow ride ops all day. Not bad enough to drop the rating, though I did go when the park was dead and everything was a walk on.
-
Airtimes First Drop Nice surprise!
On my Magic Mountain trip, I didn’t really have high expectations for Twisted Colossus. But once I got on it, it blew me away. The 80° drop was unexpectedly powerful! Regarding the airtime, it honestly felt like there wasn’t a single moment throughout the whole ride where my butt touched the seat. The only complaints I have are that some elements on the green side are a bit awkward
-
Pace Layout Ejectors
Another great RMC. I love how you get two rides in one with two intense first drops. Best ride for me was in the back. Crazy ejectors and airtime.

Airtimes Inversions Fun
Arguably the best RMC, this coaster does not disappoint. I’ve ridden this ride a few different times, and every time I do I get a different experience than the time before. When the ride ops are moving fast, you’ll get to duel with the other train and share some inversions, which is unique to TC and a really fun feature. The drop Thea Econ’s time around is phenomenal, and the hang time/airtime you get throughout the ride makes it fun. A solid coaster all the way around.

Airtimes Comfort Duration Theming
Awesome ride! Very smooth and comfortable coaster with great airtime.
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Duration
Flawless dueling RMC with tons of airtime and not a single boring element. Even better is the fact that you get two first drops with pure insane ejector airtime! Best coaster at Six Flags MM for sure!
-
Airtimes Layout
I found most RMC's so far really overrated but this one is actually really strong. A shame the duel barely works and even if it does the trains don't really meet up in the dignature elements. I have to say though that I rode it on a really hot day (almost 40 degrees)
-
Fun Masterpiece Ejectors
Makes a mockery of absolutely everything I have tried before; an easy steal for my number 1 spot. Could not get enough of this. I can see why some might find an RMC too much, but for me this was perfection. Moar please!

Airtimes Capacity Smoothness
Twisted Colossus is a very unique coaster. You get that trademark ejector airtime that RMC offers, but with a twist. Unique elements on the ride like a top gun stall and a dueling track. Drops are well hidden and surprising at times. The coaster is two tracks in one and you ride both, which is a positive. The tracks are able to dual and interact with one another, major positive, but rare. Unfortunately both sets of track aren’t very long and RMC could have increased their track length. Overall, great coaster.
-
Airtimes Layout Ejectors Lap Bar
I love this ride and out of all the rmcs I have ridden, this takes top 5 (I’ve rode 11). Everything about this ride is great, especially loving the top gun stall on the green track. Two things to make this ride better is by have a more comfortable lap bar that’s not squeezing my thighs and have the second lift hill to not be so long.
-
Layout Ejectors Duration Reliability
I only got one ride on this thing and it was not a dueling ride, but it's still my favorite RMC. It's a very long ride with a great mix of elements, including several moments of strong ejector airtime and laterals. It doesn't always duel and I wish the ride were programmed and set up better so that it could duel every time (I wouldn't mind the downtime) but the rest of the ride more than makes up for it. 10/10
-
Airtimes First Drop Duration
Absolutely wicked coaster. Huge airtime, great inversions, two first drops, smooth, fun.
-
Inversions Fun Ejectors Dead spots
The second first drop does make up for the second lift "dead spot", and the first airtime hill on each side are great. The Top Gun stall is fun but a bit short. I got two duels on the blue side, which were quite a bit more fun than solo, but I would have loved to experience the top gun stall from the inverted side in a duel! This is 3rd on my list of RMCs behind Outlaw Run and Steel Vengeance, and ahead of Goliath and Stunt Pilot (though that kind of lives in its own single rail ranking)
-
Pace Intensity Layout Discomfort
Maybe it’s because my train was near empty, but I was disappointed by this one compared to my expectations. Maybe when I ride it with a full train in a few weeks, my opinion will change, but as of now it’s just a pretty good dueler that’s far rougher than it should be.
-
Airtimes First Drop Ejectors
Totally blew my mind, this ride has plenty of airtime, the first drop is insane and the negative gs are there for sure, the camelback before the zero g roll sends you flying out of your seat, I totally see why it’s one of the best rides in the world
-
Airtimes Ejectors Hangtime
I’d put more pros if it let me. Excellent coaster from start to finish. If you’re lucky enough to duel, this excellent coaster becomes the very, very best. It’s unbelievably cool and fun - But even if you don’t get to duel, it’s an absolute blast.
-
Fun Layout Ejectors Reliability
Elite ride! One of my favorites of all time, and full of crazy ejector airtime. Currently ranks number 2 in my rankings
-
Airtimes Pace Fun Reliability
Great RMC, love the dueling concept tho hardly is dueling. Great airtime from every hill and absolutely blows through the layout. Crazy fun too.
-
Masterpiece Layout Duration
I love that they converted the old colossus, so you get both tracks on every ride, and each track is unique. That’s a genius move. I prefer the blue track to the green, but heard others during my 3 different rides who preferred the green. This ride has a little bit of everything…. A great first drop (twice), good airtime, crazy inversions, smoothness, comfort, and fun from start to finish. They even get a little silly on the approach to the first chain lift. I’m putting this 3rd on my tops, only behind X-2 and Millennium Force. These hybrid wooden coasters are the best thing to happen in roller coasters, since inverted steel and dangling feet in the 90s. Joker at Discovery Kingdom is another really fun wooden hybrid coaster, but I thought this was significantly better.
-
Airtimes Comfort Smoothness
It has been a while since I rode this. Nearly 6 years now, but I remember this coaster as being buttersmooth. The mini bunny hops at the beginning were a pleasant surprise for sure. I loved that it were two coasters in one, but would have loved to have exchanged that for a longer ride in general without having that secondary lifthill. The topgun stall was definitely a highlight and I have a picture of that hanging above my bed as I love it so much. Just good memories!
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Layout
A HUGE surprise. I was thinking this would be a mid tier RMC but wow was I wrong. I went expecting it to not duel and just be a decent airtime ride but man did it destroy my expectations. I went on 2 days where they were consistently dueling and that adds a whole new level to this ride imo. The first drop on both sides was a much better drop then I expected. The turn around gave fantastic airtime on both sides and provides great interaction between the trains. The bunny hill after on the blue side is an element I hadn’t heard anything about but was maybe my favorite moment of the ride. It felt like a magnum triangle hill but faster. The next moment gives fantastic sustained ejector similar to the camelbacks on twisted Timbers on the blue side, and good hang on the green side. If dueling this moment is amazing. The next element is similar just not quite as strong and then some good air into the breaks. I was not expecting the intensity and ejector this ride gave and the dueling added to it. It went from a ride I thought be ranked similarly to Iron Rattler to a ride that is ranked with Steel Vengeance for me and honestly I think is better. My new favorite RMC for now and it 100% deserves that title imo.

Airtimes Lap Bar
great great ride. lots of airtime even during the smaller bumps. if they time the coasters right you'll be able to have a great twisted race with the other train. probably one of the best rides I've been on.
-
It has great airtime and a great first drop, but some parts of it such as the stall were a bit underwhelming to me, which is partly my fault because of my expectations coming into it. At the park, I personably prefer Tatsu but Twisted Colossus is still one of my top coasters.
-
Airtimes Masterpiece Ejectors
This is the best coaster i've ridden and the airtime is insane. There is 10+ times in this ride where you are getting ejected into your harness and dropped back down again. This ride is incredible and you can't miss it
-
Pace Layout Ejectors Reliability
Twisted Colossus is an amazing coaster with a long but fast paced layout. All the hills provide intense airtime, the inversions are whippy, so it is everything you expect from an RMC. Even when it is not dueling, the ride is fantastic, and a dueling ride is a cherry on top. However, no one should ignore the fact that this ride is supposed to duel every time and it doesn't. When I include "Reliability" as a Con, I am referring to its dueling and not so much the maintenance aspect. My only major complaint is the inconsistency of dueling. Often the trains are only 10-15 seconds away from dueling, so it seems like only a minor programming change is needed. I would even go as far to say I would wait longer in line for slower operations as long as it is always duels. Even with this issue, it is still #1 at the park for me.
-
Airtimes Comfort Duration Dead spots
Standard RMC, fantastic fun while racing, great pops of ejector and floaty inversions, sadly dosent duel too much anymore, insane operations on opening day.
-
Airtimes Smoothness Ejectors Dead spots
Twisted Colossus is amazing. It delivers a butt-kick first drop, and every element thereafter is quite enjoyable. Amazing airtime. They were doing pretty good about dueling the day I went, but my train unfortunately did not duel.
-
Airtimes Smoothness Duration
Twisted Colossus was my first RMC. I know this manufacturer has a flattering reputation among enthusiasts, and now I can see why. This coaster is just an amazing machine. It's smooth, it's long and intense, but not too intense, the airtimes are great, the inversions are great. The only drawback would be it would be even better if it would duel every time. Twisted Colossus definitely hooked me in the RMC hype, and I can't wait to ride more coasters from this manufacturer.
-
Fun Ejectors Hangtime
Another RMC where every moment is perfectly crafted. Designed to race, otherwise the pacing is a little wonky.
-
-
Airtimes Layout Duration
The staff were really cool and tried to dispatch the ride in time so it would duel. Out of the three times that I rode it, we only dueled once, but when we did, it was AMAZING. This is definitely the best coaster at Magic Mountain.
-
Inversions Fun Masterpiece
The Top Gun Stall is one of my favorite roller coaster features of all time. This ride is a 100% must for even the most casual of coaster fans.
-
Airtimes Pace Duration
Fast, tight, and full of ejector airtime. It's especially fun when the two trains experience the stall-roll and the inline twist simultaneously. Awesome ride... and then you get to do it again!
-
Airtimes First Drop Smoothness Harness
Twisted Colossus spent alot of time at my #1, then I rode El Toro. Nonetheless, it is still pretty awesome. The prelift even has air! The drops are insane with pure ejector air but sadly there is a little thigh crushing. The high five is unique and cool as well. The stall in particular is a great inversion. The best part is once the blue side ends, you get to go again on the green side! it's practically the same layout but slighlty altered. When you're dueling, the ride is even better. Overall, Twisted Colossus is one wicked ride but it is held back a little by poor restraints. Still a 5/5 though.
