Comet is an older family wood coaster that has a lot of charm and runs moderately smoothly. The buzz bar restraints are also a rarity these days.

The lift with its beautiful view of Lake Erie (and the sunset) and that great first drop are excellent and then unfortunately you get shaken like a rag doll at the bottom of that first drop. It really hauls like a bat out of hell so the intensity is high but there’s a roughness to it like you have to really hold on and ride defensively to not get injured so I have to knock it down a bit for that. It’s still a wonderful terrain coaster that deserves respect.

    First Drop Smoothness Layout

This ride starts out a bit bumpy on the lift hill but then it has a steep first drop and is fairly smooth and comfortable while still giving you that rough wood coaster experience. It’s got and interesting layout that is unique and you can tell it’s gotten new lumber here and there to help it run more smoothly. The park on a sunny July Saturday afternoon was mostly empty so I’m afraid this won’t be long for the world so make sure to get over there and give it a few rides. It’s a wonderful wood coaster and you can tell the owner cares. It’s more than I can say for the wood coasters at Canada’s Wonderland with it’s mega budget or a lot of other parks in the northeast for some reason.

    Inversions Intensity

It's a fantastic coaster with intense moments. Since it's a Schwarzkopf you can anticipate very fierce loops. What makes them so unique is how sharp the loops are. They aren't the teardrop style but an actual circle so you experience nasty positive forces. I think the rest of the ride was decent but the loops made it jump up in my rankings. The first drop is okay but a bit shallow for my liking. The helix is also decent but does not have enough speed to make it stand out among the better sharp turnarounds. 3.5/5 stars

    Discomfort

The harnesses are so painful on the final hills. Beyond painful!

    Rattle Disappointing! Tear it down!

If I were to choose a ride to blow up it'd be this one. The coolest part is being able to reach out and give a high five to the cars next to you. That's about it though. Rickety. Old. Not particularly good.

Seats are a smidge too small. Got crushed in there. Otherwise outstanding.

Probably one of the roughest steel coaster's I've ridden. It's one of the few large scale coasters that I would avoid going on. Maybe it was the row that I was sitting in that was especially rough because another friend of mine had no problem with roughness on the same night and ranks this coaster much higher than I. But I'm not here to give his review. It seems to have a good layout that would pull good forces, but the problem is that roughness. The nonstop shaking of the car was quite a pain, and I came off that ride with sore arms and neck. Overall, it has great potential, but is ruined by roughness.

My favorite ride in the park. Fun as hell.
