I've heard good things about this coaster for YEARS, finally rode it in London and I couldn't have had a better ride! Incredibly smooth, especially for it's age, a good length considering it's *£12* per ride. The harnesses weren't that bad for me at all, I'm short and skinny so the uncomfortableness that others talk about really didn't affect me at all.

The most disappointed I've ever been going on a rollercoaster. Pleasure Beach was one of the first Non-Alton Towers theme parks I went to when I first started visiting other parks, and I'd heard for years about how Icon was the best coaster in the UK (pre Hyperia/Nemesis Reborn). When I came off it, I couldn't help but feel let down, it just doesn't do anything that excites me. The launch is weak, the positive g forces are non existent, any sense of speed is also pretty non existent. It's not a bad coaster in the sense of something like Saw: The Ride or Infusion, it just doesn't do anything For Me. The merchandise is good though!

The air cannons hurt my ears real bad and the headbanging is too much :( Update 2024: made me cry. Update 2025: I've only had one ride on it this season and it was Okay! It was Fine! I doubt they've improved it at all, I think I just know where to brace now. Still not great!

s'alright, will increase with re-rides but only ridden once so far so unable to pass fair judgement. UPDATE: it's still alright, the rattle is definitely there I knew I wasn't imagining things on opening. The areas grown in better now but the first impression of Fearless Valley from the Saw side is a bit sad (mud, tools, temp. fencing). First half good until 'splashdown' which kills the ride and then it just ends. UPDATE 2: 2025 and this is running noticeably better, the rattle isn't as bad as it was last year, dare I say I didn't notice it really at all? Really good as a night ride, and full credit to the host team who were absolutely smashing it. It still has the same issues as before, with the splashdown definitely not working and lackluster theming, but at least there's a couple new fences now!

By far the more enjoyable Nemesis at the moment. While Reborn has a current problem of a rattle and the problem she's always had of not really doing much of note after the loop, Inferno remains a mostly smooth and enjoyable coaster. I've experienced little to no headbanging, and it is consistently intense. It's such a shame that she's so overshadowed by her sister, yet on the other hand I do not want Merlin to change a thing considering how Reborn now rides. The queue experience is great too, walking up a volcano into the station. Truly underappreciated in the UK's ride lineup.

An incredible ride! A really fun layout, an amazing on board soundtrack, and some surprisingly good launches make this a great ride. However! There's always a lot of back and forth online about whether this or Voltron is the best in Europe (or at least the best Mack), and I do have to give the point to Voltron here. The layout here is great, however it's just too short to really take it in properly. The theming that it has is really good, yet I don't know if it's just because I'm not that familiar with the Tomorrowland IP but it just doesn't interest me. I had one or two rides where the onboard audio was not working and it did noticeably impact my enjoyment of the ride. Normally I'd dock the ride half a star for not allowing me to ride with my glasses but it's so wild that I don't think it would really make a difference. The elements are taken in such a way that it kind of makes me wish it wasn't a spinning coaster so I could appreciate them more. BUT! It's still a great coaster! Side note: the fact that there was Consistently a different group of British Enthusiasts outside this ride every time I entered the area was really funny to me, spawn point.

Fun little Gerstlauer with a REALLY good launch! Surprisingly smooth, especially compared to the other Gerstlauers I've done like The Smiler or (*shudders*) Saw: The Ride. Harness has the same issues all coasters with these have, uncomfortable when your head gets thrown around and a bit tight on the thighs (albeit not As Bad as usual).

I had a ride on this where the fog was so thick you couldn't see the bottom of the first drop from the top of the lift hill and it made me realise two things. 1) That I was about to have the best ride on a coaster that I would ever have, and 2) PortAventura are absolutely insane. I love everything about this layout, the queue not so much, but the actual ride experience? 10/10

I really really love this ride. Sure the theming isn't the best (how many budget cuts has it been the victim of now, three?), but I adore the layout. I've only done one other flying coaster (FLY), and I genuinely think I prefer the elements on Galactica. Some of that probably is home park bias, but I love the fly-to-lie element. It's a shame she probably doesn't have many more years left in her, being a rare model especially in Europe where she is the only one. I'll really miss Galactica when she's gone, but the age is starting to show.

While this ride is undoubtedly incredible, when separating the ride from the area I find it really hard to pick out individual moments of this ride that really stand out to me past the first launch. As someone who's very shortsighted, this is the only coaster I've ever been on where I've point blank not been allowed my glasses on (understandably), so the effect of flying over Rookburgh is kind of lost on me. However this is still an absolutely amazing coaster, from the area, to the dispatch sequence, to the comfort of the ride, it's really set a benchmark for what rollercoasters should be. It's a shame Phantasialand seem to be more interested in making play areas instead of keeping this steam train rolling. I've only done two flying coasters, and while I think I prefer Galactica purely from a layout perspective (adore the fly-to-lie section), FLY clears Galactica in every other category and sits higher in my rankings for it.

I adore this ride. My favourite wooden coaster that I've ever done. Before you even get on this ride, you go through an amazingly themed queue that is a godsend in the summer, through the supports themselves and some fantastic indoor sections. The queue never feels like it stops moving, and you never feel like you're doubling back on yourself. The station itself is so cool, with moving wooden statues that follow the trains as they pass through. The coaster itself is relentless, an incredible first drop which picks up an incredible speed that it doesn't lose until the final brakes, with some good forces! My only minor gripe is the staff uniform, but I'd rather the staff wear the sponsor than it affect the rides theming so I'm okay with it.

Wicker Man is one of few coasters I enjoy every single time I go on it. Arguably the most consistent of the 'Big 3' coasters at Towers, even though it's not my favourite wooden coaster in the world, or even the UK (RIP Megafobia), it's still an incredibly quick coaster with some really decent airtime, and good interactions with the central theming piece. Even on the middle row (which I always end up on somehow), it's always a great time that I think is worth queuing for when it's busy. The theming is pretty good, not quite as impressive as Wodan's, but it succeeds in its own ways, with really nice quality merchandise available if that's your thing. My only major gripe is with the preshow. While it's undoubtedly a great show that wouldn't be out of place in a European theme park, it's often operated in such a way that it crams as many people in there as possible, which slows down the main queue by a noticeable amount, and can lead to people who were in the spot in the queue behind you being on a train that's 3 trains ahead of yours. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but at a park like Towers where every minute is valuable (i.e. a busy day when it's a 4pm close), it can be really annoying. Regardless of this though, it's still a great addition to the ride. The whole package is probably the last truly great thing of quality that Merlin have made, it's a shame it probably won't be beaten for a long while!

Re-writing my review of this to reflect how I currently feel about Nemesis. Prior to the retrack she was unshakably my #1, however as time goes on for Reborn, the ever increasingly present rattle keeps it from ever taking that spot back from Voltron Nevera. Now we're over a year on, the new track colours have lost their novelty and I've come to realise that I just prefer the original style, and that goes for the rest of Forbidden Valley too. I really wish the two rides were seperate on here, especially when something like Python is. The only reason she's still #2 in my rankings is because that's where I'd put '94 Nemesis, realistically Reborn falls somewhere around the #15 spot for me these days. I'm scared to ride her more incase that number falls further.

While you can't deny that Smiler is an incredibly well engineered coaster for its footprint, I Sure Have Had Some Rides on it. It's a gamble on whether you're going to have a slightly rough but nothing major ride, or a genuinely really uncomfortable and painful experience. It's a shame too because the not-so-rough rides are genuinely great, the airtime hills really pack a surprising punch and the inversions are incredibly fun! If you manage to get a perfect duel the whole way round, it's a visual spectacle, but you're more likely to only get it for half the ride if at all. Regardless of if you get a smoother ride or not, the jolt at the exit of the cobra roll is something I have to brace for every time and I'm glad I know it's there, otherwise it would be incredibly painful. The overall maintenance of the coaster is awful, I haven't seen the Marmaliser effects working once this season, and the whole thing needs a wash and a repaint. It really is a shame, because the good rides I've had on it were great :(

The Space Mountain theming on this is absolutely incredible, the Star Wars 'temporary' overlay is abhorrent. Regardless, the coaster is so much fun that it's only really a problem in the queue (for me) because the layout more than makes up for it. Incredibly good coaster, love Vekomas In Boxes and this is by far my favourite of that category.
